not everything on relapse is bad, particularly if it's swedish,
This review is from: Funeral March (Audio CD)
this reminds me of a more compositionally organic and less politically defined nasum or rotten sound. the songs are immediately endearing because of the vibrant melodic subtext in riff arrangement, and it's surprisingly crusty, traditional stuff for second generation-styled grind, easily getting by on a salad of excellent rhythm riffs alone without pounding many "big breakdown" moments into your head--besides the face-melting harmonic deconstruction and contrapuntal lead at the end of "the anchor." meanwhile, the vocals are furious without going over the top, more enunciated and thoughtfully patterned than the rapidfire vocal approach nasum eventually had. gadget are emotive enough that it's not surprising these guys were or are also in some metalcore band, but fear not, this is top-notch for mainstream grind.
