Product Description

Grow your own edible Organic Shiitake Mushrooms. Great mushrooms for all your Chinese and Japanese dishes. Shiitake mushrooms are touted for both their delicious taste and health benefits. These mushrooms can be dried or pickled. Your Shiitake mushrooms can be harvested at 2 week intervals for up to 16 weeks. A 50-80° F environment is best for cultivation. Certified Organic! The Shiitake Mushroom Kit will produce 2-3 pounds of mushrooms over a 12-16 week period, in crops that will spring forth in approximately two week intervals.

Each Mushroom Growing Kit consists of pure mushroom mycelium growing on a sterilized medium, or substrate. The substrate used will vary, depending on the mushroom being grown.

Each Kit contains: sterilized and enriched sawdust medium, and a Chinese strain of Shiitake (Lentinula edodes).

This kit is well worth the money! I've harvested tons of really great tasting mushrooms, and they just look so cool... I've recommended it to many friends who've asked about it. Easy to use, fun, and so inexpensive for what you get. Just as good as more expensive kits I've used before. Thanks!

This is a great kit. It is so interesting to watch the little buds appear and then grow into full-blown mushrooms.. They grow amazingly fast also. There was more than once I had a tiny little mushroom in the morning and a huge ready to eat mushroom when I got home in the evening.. Very easy to grow.. We got three harvests from our kit.

Be aware that nowhere on the website does it say that this item must be opened and used within 30 days. However, that information was printed on the box so when I received it I called the company to determine if that 30 days is simply a "recommended to be used by" date (I wanted to give it as a Christmas gift). They informed me that while there could possibly be a 5-7 day "grace" period, the 30-day limit is pretty firm. The company will not refund or exchange this item. I'm sure this is a good product but be sure you are planning to open and start it growing immediately.
