OK, but outdated,
By Eric McGill "Eric" (San Diego County, CA, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Funk & Wagnalls new encyclopedia (Hardcover)
I have the 1983 edition, and while it is thorough and detailed, it is over twenty years out of date. It's older than I am. I'd recommend going with a newer version, or using Wikipedia.

An old set; still valued,

This review is from: Funk & Wagnalls new encyclopedia (Hardcover)
This encyclopedia set is an old one my mom got for my from a thrift store when I was in elementary school. Even now in college I have volume three open to "Babylonian Religion" an am extracting in important assertion made by Samuel Noah Kramer, a world renowned scholar who knew everything about the culture I was researching for my politics class essay. Mr. Kramer is no longer with us, but his words are as valuable today as they were in the 90s.That said, I agree with the previous reviewer that you should definitely get a newer edition if you can, and make sure it is up to the standard that this set had. |
