My daughter's favorite pony is Rainbow Dash. Sure, she likes a couple of the others too, but Rainbow Dash beats them all. Since My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic came out, there have been a lot of Rainbow Dash dolls and figures released in a short period of time, and yet only a few of them look like RD as she appears in the show. Funko recently stepped up and started making larger vinyl figures of the ponies, first with Derpy and now with Rainbow Dash. Derpy has already sold out twice, and RD here will likely follow in her hoofsteps. The figure was just released a few weeks ago, so finding one at the moment shouldn't be too hard. I strongly recommend buying one now though, as this is the kind of thing that's going to shoot up in price quickly. Vinyl figures are extremely collectible, and with MLP's rabid fan base, scoring one of these in even a month from now will probably be a challenge.

Rainbow Dash comes in a cool black box just like Derpy, but with her image on the side. The great thing about the box is that it has a large window, so you can see how the figure looks before buying [if you're getting this at that Warm Subject store]. This is a big deal, and I'll tell you why in a minute. RD stands at almost 6 inches tall and has a good amount of weight to her. This isn't a hollow figure, no. She's solid vinyl! Her Cutie Mark looks as it should, and her eye coloring seems to be right. The wings look great too. I'm glad that Funko made these figures look like how the characters appear in the show, from the shape of the hair to the faces. The only real point of articulation is the head, which you can't really move around because of her hair. It's not a big deal though, since most vinyl figures don't have much articulation, and are usually made to stay in one pose.

These are really cute figures and wonderful to find the ponies who aren't made readily by Hasbro, but--in my opinion--they are worth maybe $6. We have Derpy, Dr. Whooves and Rainbow Dash. I'm really surprised at their quality--given they are made by Funko and Funko usuallys does a decent job with its figures.

First, these ponies have very realistic-looking molds and are quite cute and well-painted (thumbs up to that). They are also a good size (almost as big as the Fashion MLPs). However, they have quality issues. First, some of their joints tend to be poorly glued together (neck/head and tail). The paint also scratches easily--fine for display, but not good for play. I will be trying to seal the painted parts of ours soon with a good air-dry vinyl varnish I bought from Bountiful Babies (a fantastic doll supply company) in hopes to preserve the paint as my daughter likes to play with them.

Another important thing to take note of is the vinyl smells really, really bad. How bad? Stronger and a load more chemical-laden than a Berenguer doll (if you are a parent or doll collector who bought one of these dolls you'll know what I mean). The smell literally comes out of the box and smacks you upside of the head.

If you really want to buy one for a child or someone who is sensitive to smells (or you are just plain concerned about toxins), be sure to set the pony out of the box for a couple weeks so it offgasses or a day or two outside. Not sure if they are BPA or lead-free. It make not be as important as they seem more suited to be display figures, but it'd be great to know--especially if kids have access to them.

The Funko Rainbow Dash figure is quite large and heavy. I expected it to be hollow but it is solid and feels really sturdy, especially for the price.

I'm not pleased with the manufacturing. The figure has rough, uneven areas on one side of the face and neck and under the tail. There are black marks and streaks in random places all over the back, legs and feet. The paint on one of the eyes wasn't applied evenly and looks speckled white. The other eye was applied perfectly. See the photos I added in the customer images section. The photos really don't properly capture the rough uneven appearance of the face and neck.

Love the size and weight of the figure. Hate the inconsistent quality. I pre-ordered the Pinky Pie but cancelled it. I was purchasing them for display - they are not display quality.

As just about anyone viewing this product is aware, these vinyl figures are not intended for use as toys--they're collectible figurines that aren't meant for play. This in mind, I would expect a little more attention to accuracy and detail when producing these for-the-fan/collector types of items.

Rainbow Dash does not have blue hair in the portion of her mane on top of her head. Red-Orange-Yellow on top, and Green-Blue-Purple on the back. Period. That's it. Should be easy.

If you think I'm nitpicking, you're probably not much of a collector (unless you deal in "misprints" or plan to repaint it yourself), and the color disparity probably won't be a problem for you. In that case, please have fun with your toy.

I wanted to love this Rainbow Dash figure, but I can't. There are way too many flaws in the design and construction. The area around the neck, instead of being smooth, looks mangled (almost like Rainbow Dash was involved in a horrible accident and had to have reconstructive surgery). Her wings look glued on (and visibly slow). The paint around her tail is sloppily done, especially where the colors run into one another (it appears who ever painted it had a really hard time "staying inside the lines").

All in all, it feels rushed and poorly put together. Not worth $15.
