This is ANOTHER great Christi workout. It's the latest of hers that I have. I don't know why this has taken so long to be released through amazon when other companies have it already, but nevertheless, this is a terrific dvd. It's fun, motivating, challenging and high high energy. There is floor aerobics for a little over a half hour, and then there is toning. Her cueing is again superb and it's never hard to follow because of this great instruction. The thing I like about this workout and her others, is her teaching style, because what she does is teaches you in layers. She begins with a simple easy step, repeats it for a bit and then adds to it often. Before you know it, you're doing what looked impossible when you first watch it through. Don't fret if you don't get it right away, because at the end is a helpful segment where each move is broken down easily. A must workout dvd. Better than anything else out there.

Another Keeper!, January 23, 2008
By Trish "A Sun Salutin', Crochet Hookin' Chick!" (CA) - See all my reviews

I am such a Christi Taylor DVD fan! Her DVD's are always very well cued, fun and produced well.
This one features her son on the drums during the movemaster (which is a tutorial I think all exercise DVD's should have) and the music during the routine is upbeat and fun.
This DVD does include quite a few dancey steps, but who wants a DVD you can do perfectly the first time you attempt it??? I like the steps and combinations in this one and I think her positive and upbeat attitude reaches out through the screen to the viewer.
This DVD also includes a stength and abs workout that the DVD's that I own (Her other DVD's) don't have. If I have time, I can combine my workout and get everthing done in one session, but I usually can't cut out that big of a block of time.
Again, this DVD is fun, fast and funky. You may need to practice with the Movemaster to do all the moves correctly, but it is fun and you will sweat!

The cardio segment of this workout is fabulous and lots of fun. Some people complain about Ms. Taylor's complex moves, these are exactly what keep me interested and will keep me doing this for a long time in the future. The stretching segment makes for a great cooldown and good stretch. The reason I only gave 4 is because of the strength section. I just can't find it in me to do 15 min of squats, along with pushups. I'm not in bad shape but it gets pretty painful after the first 5 min. So, basically, I skip this section and move right to stretching making for about a 45 min workout. Some days I add a short upper body weight segment from another workout to make it a full hour. I do recommend this. Try Totally Hot Cardio is you want a 60 min--5 min Warm up, 50 min of Cardio and 5 min abs.

Christi really took great care in selecting excellent music and creating a choreographed routine that perfectly matches the music! It's incredible, it's not only the rythm and the exercise that match perfectly, even when in the song they are saying something, Christy sings for example "in a square" and the choreography makes you form a square, then she sings "down and out" and you put your arms down and out. I am not exactly sure what they say in the original song - my English is not always catching the lyrics properly - but it definitely sounds like what Christy is saying...It is this little details that reveal Christi's passion and love for what she is doing. In fact I have seen trailers of other Christi's DVD's (cardio and step) and she seems to be obsessed to choose the perfect music for her exercises and to add some flair to traditional exercises (a hip sway or something), this makes exercising with her totally different and FUN, although her routines are tough. The choreographies are somewhat difficult at the beginning but with some practise you will get into them (maybe 1-2 weeks). I also strongly recommend Bootcamp Boogie, which has also good music and is a bit easier if you have difficulties with or do not like more elaborate choreographed routines. Petra's DVD includes more "workout"-type exercises in very simple combinations.

CARDIO CHALLENGE: Medium to high TONING: Very good CHOREOGRAPHY DIFFICULTY: Beginner to intermediate INSTRUCTIONAL QUALITY: Excellent MUSIC: Excellent FUN FACTOR: Very high

CONTENTS:
- Two workouts (called Funk Phase I and II) each one consisting in several choreographed routines that do not repeat themselves.
