A Sure Bet With Kids,
By
This review is from: How to Be the Funniest Kid in the Whole Wide World (or Just in Your Class) (Hardcover)
My teenage daughter has laughed herself silly with this book. It is full of all kinds of jokes, many of which are pretty corny. She shared a few dozen of them with me.
Here are a couple of her favorites: Teacher: Now, who can explain Einstein's Theory of Relativity? Li'l Jay: Einstein? Teacher: Use the word MOTIF in a sentence. Li'l Jay: My grandma wears dentures because she has no motif. If you have a youngster who has a keen sense of humor, this will probably be a hit.

As an author, it frustrates me that my third-grade son HATES to read! This book, however, is different. He's having fun, becoming more outgoing and reading without even feeling as if he's doing homework. (His class has to read 400 minutes per month.) Love it! Buy it for your kids who struggle with reading.

Jay, You are doing all the RIGHT things!,

This book touches the very heart of every child, teen and parent. For Jay to have the proceeds go to Concerns of Police Survivors is enheartening, as the children of fallen officers have so much to give and receive in this world, still...and encouragement makes a difference to them. I will give all my nieces and nephews, and children a book for Christmas.
Way to go, Jay!

Great light-hearted book. Jay Leno is just an all-around good American. He is giving proceeds of book to fund for families of police officers who are wounded or killed in the line-of-duty.
Good book, worthwhile cause.

This book is soooo funny! also, it turned me into the class clown when I was young! I showed This to Matt Aurand (My neighbor.), And he laughed out loud and became the class clown too both when we were ten!

Jay's jokes are geared to the 8 to 12 year-old and mostly ones I hadn't heard before. However, the real gold in this book is his side commentary about how to be a comedian. These are very inspirational. My 12 year-old read it cover to cover.

My son received this book as a gift when he was 10. He doesn't take to books real well but he really enjoyed this one. He rereads it often. I would recommend it for any child who strives to be funny.

THIS BOOK TURNED MY GRANDSON INTO A READER!,

I buy a lot of children's books because I'm an author with a great kids book to my credit, and I like to check out the competition!
But I didn't have to buy this one. My grandson, Johnny, kept laughing while reading this book and, finally, he brought it over to me and tested the jokes on me. Of course, I laughed too. Johnny doesn't like to read as much as his sister does--except for THE TOONIES that I wrote, of course--so for him to read this one with no prompting from his parents, shows me that the ever-lovable Jay Leno has written a real cool book! Now if only I could get it away from Johnny long enough to judge for myself. |
