A very nice book for small children. The colors are vibrant, the pictures are very attractive, my 5 months old daughter likes it.

At the end of the page you will get sound and light coming out of the truck. This last page will be triggered when it notices the differences of darkness and light. So the sound and light for this last page won't work in extremely low lighting condition. Hence, it won't be a sleepy time book. Nevertheless, it is an excellent daytime book. Absolutely recommended.

This book suppose to come with some sounds & light.

But the book that we got had no sound and no light.

My infant son absolutely loves the tractor noise and lights on the last page of this book (page 5). The lights and sounds will not work in low light conditions (thanks to ghex88 for explaining how it functions). He also likes to touch the chirpy chick's "feathers" on the front cover and the first page. Also, the text on all pages is very nice, even for an infant. The rest of the pages don't have anything exceptionally exciting for a baby to touch (page 2 has slightly protruding bunny's nose and page 4 has textured cloth duck). It would be a big plus to have noises (and lights) on all pages, but even as it stands the book is worth getting.

this book is super cute and my daughter loved it but when we got to the page that was supposed to have sound... THERE WAS NO SOUND! Very disappointed!! We're returning it for a refund. Kinda scared to order another one like this. :(

This is a smaller version of the others - so it only has a "feeling" page on the first page. But it does have sound on the last page, and as always, the poems are cute and pictures adorable. My kids love these books.

My child loves this book!! However, we are on our second one because the last page has a tractor on it and he makes a tractor sound and lights up and after a while it stopped working. I bought the second one and it did not last as long as the first. My son still likes the book but disappointed when it does not work.

I have worked with infants and toddlers for the past two years and know what they like and don't like. They love Roger Priddy books. All of them. Chirpy Chick is no exception. It is bright and colorful the story line is simple and funny. At the end there is always a surprise sound that comes from turning the last page. This is a good one to read together then put back on the shelf. If left up to the Toddler to handle the last page may get damaged. Love it. 5 stars

The sound effects at the end only work about 20% of the time. I purchased several of these titles and had the same problem with all of them. Also, I thought the story was really very negative.
