Book Description

October 1, 2001
The world didn’t need another tome about education in the Digital Age. So Jason Ohler wrote a novel. A fun, fantasy-filled, prophetic novel. Part science fiction adventure, part Monty Python, part treatise on the state of education in a high tech world, Ohler imparts what he has learned in two decades of being a pioneer in the world of high tech learning. He wants you to understand the world you are living in and have a good time doing it.

Join computer savant William Tell as he tries to find a path with a heart among the glitz of the high tech world. Led by his mentor Credo--a dot-com dropout turned street urchin turned time-traveling troubadour--and joined by a group of insanely wise helpmates, William discovers what it means to be human in a world filled with intelligent machines. In the end, he finally finds the crusade he has been looking for: creating new schools for new times. Read, laugh, ponder, then go to your next school board meeting and demand we begin rethinking how we prepare our young, not just for the world of work, bur for the world of community.
