I ordered these boots to go with the supergirl costume that I also ordered here on Amazon. My main hesitation before ordering was that the boots looked like they might not be the right color red to match the costume. That is no problem though, they look great with the costume even though the reds in the pictures don't seem to match up. Other reviews have commented on the boots being narrow through the ankle and calves. I can see how that could be a problem for some people, but they fit just fine for me and I think I have pretty average sized calves. There is about an inch or so to spare through the calves for me. Where I did find the boots a little too narrow is through the toes. The toe is really pointy, so my toes are a bit cramped up. I ordered my regular size and I'm not sure if ordering a size larger would have helped or not. Overall, though, I am happy with this purchase and I would order them again. There is no way I would wear the supergirl costume without them. I would just suggest that if you are a little wide through the toes (if that makes any sense) perhaps order them a few weeks before you need them so you can walk around the house in them some or stuff the toes with socks to try to break them in. That's what I'm going to do. ***update*** I put on 2 pairs of tennis style socks with these (this was pretty uncomfortable at first without being able to move my toes a bit) and walked around the house like that for a little more than an hour before I wore them out. I was happy to find that this quickly solved the problem of the tightness through the toes. They stretched easily. I was even able to wear a single pair of socks with them comfortably after doing this. I got a lot of compliments on my supergirl costume, but even more on these boots. When I took them off at the end of the night, I did have impression marks on my calves and shins from the seams of the boots. Still, I did not feel any discomfort through the legs at all. I could have even worn them much longer.
