5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent songs and performances, and that's what matters!
These are at times deeper or more humorous interpretations of the original songs, plus a few you've never heard before, done by an interesting live back-porch-style, countrified performance band. What more could you ask for? Just be glad that Will Oldham keeps all of this interesting stuff coming out. Don't bunk him for releasing a limited edition collector's item...

1.0 out of 5 stars Needs to be released on CD!!!
I don't own this album because I don't have a record player and it hasn't been released on CD. I purchased it digitally but I prefer having a physical copy, so I rank it "1" because I want a CD release... I love the music though and highly recommend it - very entertaining take on some BPB classics!

What more could you ask for? Just be glad that Will Oldham keeps all of this interesting stuff coming out. Don't bunk him for releasing a limited edition collector's item. There's enough widespread bootlegging going on with basic generic product to make music collecting at times dull, so it's great that some artists are thinking outside of the widget box. You can download this album at Drag City to listen to it, since it is out of print here on Amazon; and then go on a search for the holy grail physical object to stuff in your collection or dag nabbit hang on your wall. What fun! Note: keep an eye out for the rare "Death to Everyone" recorded in these sessions, but not on the album. It's out there!
