Product Description

Amazon.co.uk

A cross between Rayman 2 and Sonic Adventure, Fur Fighters from Acclaim Entertainment puts you in charge of a group of fur balls who are avenging the kidnapping of their families by the evil General Viggo, who is trying to take over the world. Your band of furry critters consists of Roofus, a great digger who allows you access to each new area; Juliette, a seductive feline who can scale walls; Tweek, a newborn dragon who can glide from high places; Chang, the firefox, who is a bit on the small side and can therefore fit through ventilation shafts; Rico, a penguin who can swim underwater; and Bungalow, a kangaroo who can jump higher and farther than the rest of them.

The controls are styled similarly to a first-person shooter on the PC, with one control to look and another to move, and they can be tricky to use. While Fur Fighters lacks the spark of gaming greats like Rayman 2, it does have some advantages, such as the multiplayer levels where you and three friends battle it out in the good-old traditions of Quake. Also, rather than being stuck with one character, the game lets you change into another via the transportation pods--a great tip for tricking friends as to your identity. --Stuart Miles, Amazon.co.uk

Product Description

These stuffed animals aren't the type to just sit around and crowd a small child's bed. No, these plush creatures are an elite fighting force, and they've got the gun collection to prove it. In Fur Fighters, you'll have to help this team of little liberators surmount obstacles, solve sarcastic puzzles, and confront well-armed bosses. It's up to Roofus the hound dog, cat warrior Juliette, Bungalow the kangaroo, Rico the penguin, a red panda named Chang, and Tweek, a day-old dragon, to find the evil General Viggo, a huge white cat who kidnapped their spouses, siblings, and children. They will take you along through over 40 levels to such locales as New Quack City and Space Station Meer. Because each character has some easily identifiable talents--such as Bungalow's ability to jump--you'll have to be ready to utilize the right Fur Fighter for the job. The game is loaded with sarcastic, funny puzzles to unravel and plenty of bosses to confront.

If you want to skip the story and levels in Fur Fighters and get right to the FAO-Schwarz-meets-Sam-Peckinpah action, try the Fluffmatch, where up to four players can make the fur fly in a head-to-head hail of gunfire.

5.0 out of 5 stars Its like a zoo with guns, March 4, 2001

This game, I must say, is totally cool. The graphics are sooo good. The control is the easiest to get used to. I also love the idea of the game, animals with super-cool guns, in really cool worlds, against really cool bad-guys. If you want action, comedy, an overall great game, HUGE HUGE HUGE worlds, and fun. But. Mix Master know you wont deniy it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very addictive and fun game, March 20, 2001

I bought this game with not very high expectations. It turns out that I cannot stop playing. The levels are challenging and the game play is FUN. Some of the puzzles are impossible to figure out but after hours and hours of playing I figured them out. The graphics are excellent, especially the underwater scenes. I highly recommend this game to anyone that is considering it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great single player game, outstanding multiplayer game, July 28, 2000

I just got this game a week ago and I must give kudos to it. I guess you could compare the single player game to Sonic Adventure. You go around different levels solving puzzles, and the object is to rescue all of your babies. You also have gun fights with different enemies while roaming around. The graphics are unbeleivable, the controls are easy to use and the characters are all they are cracked up to be. The real reason I got this game was for the 4 player game. It's like the James Bond Nintendo 64 game only better. You can view it first person or behind your player and the levels arn't so big that you never find one and other. The weapons are a blast and funny to. This is definately a keeper.
