I had purchased this toy for my daughter for Christmas, but after reading (and trusting) the reviews I decided to let her play with it now so I had time to get her something else if this wasn't a good toy. Turns out the reviews are right. My daughter had to repeatedly call the dog, only to have it move two feet, turn its head and bark at her. She got bored with it after twenty minutes. The dog isn't useful as a "stuffed" animal either. It's just a machine with fur over it so it's not something she'd cozy up with. The fur was sliding around on it too. Not a good toy and not worth the price. I returned it the next day and my daughter hasn't asked about it since.

Bought Go Go for my 7 year old daughter who tried to call it once with no success. This toy does not come when called unless you are screaming loudly and continuously for a long while. The fur is fine and brushes well, and the sounds made are real enough. The biggest complaint is that the motions are too hard to "train" and this toy does not respond as described to sounds.

This toy is good only for a stuffed animal and even then it isn't very good; white fur, too heavy etc. It does NOT listen to it's commands. We gave this to my daughter for her 6th birthday.
She had a hard time with the instructions "pat the side twice to follow you, pat the head to stay, rub the back and..." Sorry but it never (and I do mean never) did what we asked it too. Instead it would just go around and around to the right. Bad toy!

My 5 year old cousin got this "puppy" for Christmas and LOVES it. It is a great toy and all of my other cousins (I have quite a bit) couldn't get enough of it. I enjoyed playing with it and so does my cousin that recieved the gift. It works great and I am surprised that some people don't even like it! Here is why I rated it the way I did-FUN: It is a really fun toy, because of how close it is to a real puppy. It really comes when you call, and for a child that doesn't have a real pet to play with it can lead to hours of enjoyment EDUCATION: I think this toy is really educational, because my cousin has no pet of her own and it teaches her responsibility for all animals. When she does something to it that would hurt a regular puppy (ie, pick it up by its head) my aunt will tell her that that was wrong and show her the right way to pick up a puppy. It can be a learning experience if you want it to be. DURABILITY: This toy seems pretty durable. Just make sure you don't drop it so much and it looks like it will last a pretty long time.

Save your money. This is a piece of JUNK!!! I would have returned it, but my husband through the box away before we learned how disappointing this toy really is. Either it does not come at all when you clap/call it or the stupid thing rolls the other way. My 4 year old has more fun playing with it while it is turned OFF. Save your money...buy something else.

I think this toy is almost like a real dog.GoGo will bark, walk, and make other dog noises. He will also listen to your commands!! He is educational because he teaches you how to take care of a real dog, like not to pick him up by his head, show respect and pick him like normal. The durablity is great,we have had GoGo since Christmas and he has not broke. We also play with him a lot and never had to change the batteries!!!THANK YOU FurReal Company!!!!

The dog's construction consists of a thin rug draped over a toy tank. The body is rounded with wheels on its bottom and has a rotating joint at its shoulders. Not too cuddly although its face is cute. The mechanical noises of the dog can be heard when moving, like a toy tank.
The dog has a limited array of functions: Comes to you, parades in circles, barks as a guard dog and rarely wags its tail. This is a far cry from a virtual pet. In fact my daughter played with it for less than a day and a half, preferring inanimate objects to this (such as toys from a McDonald's Happy Meal). For $10 it is worth a trial but definitely not worth the initial list price of $40. Go Go somewhere else. George Jetson would be ashamed of this robotic dog.

I got this one yesterday for my friends daughter and she got bored with it in 15 minutes. It just keeps barking all the time. Also there is not much of training that you could do. And the training available is not very interesting either, for example you press on the left/right side and the dog would do something etc. And it is not for cuddling. But it is ok for the rate that I got it for ($10).

My father-in-law spent over $40 for this toy and we unfortunately found out it was a huge waste of money. There is a definite reason they are now on sale everywhere. The dog is a jerky, mechanical, non-cuddly robot that does nothing but frustrate my 2 kids (ages 4 and 5) and frazzle my nerves because they both resort to shouting at it when it doesn't do what they want. There are hundreds of other toys out there that are more worth your hard earned $$.
