I purchased this toy early last year, and have been playing with it ever since! It responds well to petting, makes cute barking noises, and even works well on carpet. She will go into a calm mode where she doesn't walk if you press on her back, so she doesn't always have to be going somewhere. She makes munching sounds if you give her her bone, but if you let her sniff it then move it a bit farther in front of her, she will walk up to it and then eat it. She's pretty sturdy - that doesn't mean I would throw her around the room or let her drop off of tables, but it's not likely that she could easily be crunched. She isn't cuddly like a stuffed animal, but her actions make up for it! She hardly takes any battery power - less than some of the other FurReal Friends toys. She actually walks with her own legs, and not with wheels like Go-Go my Walkin' Pup (although Go-Go is cute too.) She won't walk too far, so you don't have to worry about her wandering off. I named mine Wonder, since she really IS a wonder! :)

My grandaughter (age 8) loves this toy. She takes it with her when she travels. Her younger brothers (6 and 2) also play with it.

This is one of the most realistic FurReal friends toys every released. I bought one when they first came out and it is still working just fine. I'm sorry to hear that a handful of the other reviewers have been having trouble with this toy. I'm very happy with it. She will walk forward and if you hold the bone up to her nose, she will sniff and eat it. And it goes through batteries very slowly, so you don't have to worry about the cost of powering the toy in the least :-) Mine is the pomeranian, she is orange but otherwise looks and acts just like the shih-tzu. Although the bone that comes with her is a lighter color.

Never knew if this was a good toy or not, never worked, as I sent this to my grandaughter for Christmas, I could do nothing as the 30 days was up. dissapointed.

Very disappointed. The dog isn't any fun to play with. It's interaction is minimal. It may take 3 steps at the most before going into sleep mode. It may, but not always, sniff the bone but rarely walks toward the bone when it is put infront of him. My daughter is very disappointed. It is a very expensive toy to be left in a closet. I would not recommend this toy to anyone.

I was very disappointed w the quality of this product. It came w dead batteries (might as well have not come w any in that case) and the sensor that prompts its motion does not work well. You have to squeeze the living daylight out of it for it to walk/bark, and the walking/barking doesn't last more than 4 seconds (4 steps). I would not recommend this to a friend.

The fur-real friends aren't very soft and cuddly. I guess I expected something with a little more padding so it didn't feel so hard. but my granddaughter didn't seem to notice, so I guess it's just my opinion and it doesn't count! ha

Purchased this for my little granddaughter (4)..I picked a Shih~Tzu because they are adorable....This one is not.......TOO EXPENSIVE!!
