I bought this toy for my daughter this past Christmas. She takes is everywhere with her. It is very cute and makes all sorts of sounds and movements. However, it does not walk. I really like being able to teach my children about the responsibility of taking care of a pet without the real thing. This was definitely a great purchase and we have had no problems with the toy's mechanical parts.

This is a fun and realistic toy. It acts like a real pet but it doesn't walk. I would recommend this toy to friends. This toy is a very cute product. I like how it turns it's head and makes realistic sounds. Note: this toy doesn't make sounds when it eats. When it goes to sleep it makes realistic breathing sounds. I love this toy and care for it like a real pet.

This was a Christmas gift for my 9-year old granddaughter. Both she and her parents liked the way it feels and the sounds it makes. Ceratainly easier to take care of that the real one!

This very cute creature was a requested gift for my 3 yr old granddaughter. It does make guinea pig sounds (we have a live guinea pig, so I have a comparison). It moves slightly, opens and closes it's eyes. On the cuteness scale, it's very high. Educational? Only in the sense that we talk about taking care of the baby animal - so it's a learning opp for responsibility and caring. We do a lot of pretend play anyway, so this is perfect for a young child.

I have owned many guinea pigs, both babies and grown, and they don't sound anything like this at all. Real guinea pigs have a high pitched whistle/squeal, hence the name. Cute little toy, but does not sound like the real thing, although most kids wouldn't know the difference. If you're going to call it FurReal, do your homework and at least be more accurate with the real sounds the animal makes. A bit pricey too, only because of popularity. Adorable toy, nonetheless.
