Furman is well known for the power conditioning circuitry. Just be sure you know this is a surge protector only. This won't help with flakey power at clubs. If you just want a power strip, though, this is top notch. I highly recommend.

I'm a part time working musician and I never play a job without using a Furman product. That being said I believe most of my older Furman products, including a nice rack mounted unit, were made in the USA. This last power strip I purchased says it's engineered in the USA and built in China. My concern with electrical items like these coming from outside the USA is the high probability of them being counterfeit and hence dangerous to use. I haven't had any failures or other issues so I'm going to give this a high rating, but Furman, I've got my eye on you.

It does what it's supposed to do: protect our equipment from power surges. Our lead guitarist has his pedals plugged into it, and the 15' cord is the perfect length.

It's a nice surge protector....I wish it were not Chinese made. RRRrrrr.

I like that this power strip is made with metal, replaceable electrical parts, lights up, and has some surge protection. I have yet to see how it performs in the long run but, I can see one problem with the design that could be better. The power switch, which also acts as the circuit breaker, is too easily switched off. All it would take is a cord coming in contact with the exposed switch to turn it off accidentally. If I'm powered up with computer, video, or audio equipment, especially in a remote or temporary set up, it could be disastrous if the power was shut off unexpectantly. The power switch could be protected in some way or it could be one made to take more effort to switch it off.

I have owned several Furman PL series power conditioner products, and can attest to their being an absolute necessity in the studio, and onstage. Though the Furman SS-6B does NOT offer "Standard Level Power Conditioning" (and should be removed from the product description), it does provide the best EMI/RFI noise attenuation of any power strip I've used, and it's built like a tank. Don't believe the hype - or waste your money - on lesser "noise filtering" plastic power strips. The Furman SS-6B is a small investment that's worth every cent.

A steel power strip with a 15' cord makes for a nice built-in power connector for a mobile media cabinet. Everything in the cabinet gets plugged into this. A nice black color helps hide everything. I'm not sure about the power conditioning. Without some proper equipment, how would you test that?

Never had any equipment get burned while using this thing (of course, haven't had many power failures either). This thing is metal / sturdy and the best thing is......The SUPER long cord!!

Bought those to provide outlets for laptop computers for our undergraduate students.

Who work in a room with lots of tables but few outlets.

What do you expect from Furman besides rock solid reliability when it comes to your power? This is an essential part of my gig bag now. The cable is very generous and can always get power to my rig from anywhere in the clubs that I play. Even if they only have one outlet on stage and the guitar player needs it for all his pedals. I haven't had a chance to test how it handles power problems but so far I haven't had any issues to speak of.

It is SOLID. Well worth the money. This is a no brainer. Every gigging musician should have one in their kit.
