Editorial Reviews

Sometimes, four legs are better than two. Dan (Brendan Fraser, The Mummy franchise) just moved his wife and son to the woods to take a new job with a supposedly eco-friendly housing development. But the fur and Dan's temper is sure to fly when the local critters learn of the bleak plans for their forest home and stop at nothing to halt construction. Brooke Shields (TV's Lipstick Jungle ), Matt Prokop (High School Musical 3: Senior Year), Ken Jeong (Knocked Up) and Angela Kinsey (TV's The Office ) co-star in this comedy for the whole family.

I thought this movie was cute and perfect to watch with your kids. I honestly don't know why it has such low ratings. It's very funny. Brendan Fraser stars as a real estate developer named Dan Sanders who is planning to tear down the forest and build a mall. The animals of the forest soon decide to take matters into their own paws and make Dan's life miserable, until he realizes what they want. Dan's wife, Tammy doesn't believe him about the animals, and insists that he gets therapy. During an eco friendly fair, the animals will have their revenge against the man who is making Dan destroy the forest. If you love comedies, and children's movies, you'll love FURRY VENGEANCE!!!

Just a fun movie... Brendan Fraser is a Family Fun silly Jerry Lewis type - (and very cute, which doesn't hurt!) check out the George in the Jungle movies too if you find this movie amusing. As for the reviewer about the "danger" the animals cause - "OH Come on!!" I am an avid animal lover - and as "real" animals could never do these things (we hope!!!) this is just FUN!! Great for family nights! And, to boot, the movie has a message about saving our open spaces and the animals within them. Awesome.

You buy your ticket. You park your logic and adult brain at the door. As you enter, you pull your 6th grade humor
back from the netherlands of childhood. And you just go with the absurdness of it all. And laugh. And remember that if animals could, they would. Enjoy.
NOVEMBER 11.15.2014: I watched this movie the first time when I was much younger . . 67. As I am a more mature 71 1/2 year-old now. I expected to agree with the one or two star reviews that found it "dumb", "stupid", "mean-spirited", and one of the "worst" movies ever made. So whether it is my second childhood or a continuation of the first one, I loved it . . . again. I love the animals getting the best of the greedy humans. And I love Brendan and Brooke together. I hope they do it again. This movie is just for fun. The 'green message' gets through, but it's still about laughing.

Absolutely loved it!!!! A clean, hilarious movie you can even watch with your family. What a concept. No foul language, no inappropriate behavior, again...WOW. The construction guys and their crew leader were amazingly awesome. Frank was an absolute hoot. The security guy was so stereotypical it was so on target.Brendon and Brooke were great too(of course), good chemistry.. Ken from "Community" incredible no matter what he is in. Did anyone know he is an MD too? Such energy. I love seeing him in anything, as do I love seeing "Angela" from "The Office". Those "little" sitcoms sure are producing very versatile and talented people. The rest of the ensemble was great too. As for the animals talking...I thought the picture communication was just fine. Again, a fun, light-hearted FAMILY movie, no filth, no nasty, no mind numbing and traumatizing storyline. How refreshing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is definitely a kids' movie and one that may be difficult for adults to sit through. The animals in the forest not only understand English but are well versed in the laws of physics and automobile operation. The Japanese boss is unmercifully stereo-typed. Animals attack Fraser, who is leading the way to destroy their habitat for the "green" company he works for, except no one but him sees the animals.

Eventually the animals let out a full assault on the humans. Extremely kid friendly as no animal dies in the movie. The message is that companies which claim to be green are not really green. It would be a good movie to watch along with some BP ads. There is some toilet humor. Most of the humor is of the slapstick variety, with maybe one joke aimed at adults.

How many Daily Show stars can you identify in cameo roles?

I can't imagine giving this less than 5 stars. It is so funny and silly and totally entertaining. From our little girl 4 years old to the great grandma at almost 70 we were giggling and laughing all the way. Great family fun.

Furry Vengeance had all the ingredients for a heartwarming, slapstick comedy. Brendan Fraser? Love him! Brooke Shields? Awesome! But the script was terrible. That is the only reason I rated this film a two. The acting, the animals, score, sets, cinematography and effects were very good. The script is an impossible, confounding mess that the Green Party would not endorse. Instead of just going with "bad guys want to tear down forest leaving animals homeless," they went with "bad guy wants to build some solar-powered, green homes in a massive forest, trap and relocate the animals, and pour millions of dollars into a local economy of a town that really needs it.

Brendan Fraser has a snotty teenage son who is enamored with a local girl who says "relocating the animals is the same as killing them." What??? So the animals, led by a raccoon (adorable) terrorize Brendan Fraser until he goes ... well, I won't spoil the end, but I would just watch the funny clips on You Tube. The funniest is a dream where the animals are partying in Brendan's kitchen.
