Just enjoy it.,
This review is from: Furry Vengeance (DVD)
You buy your ticket. You park your logic and adult brain at the door. As you enter, you pull your 6th grade humorback from the netherlands of childhood. And you just go with the absurdness of it all. And laugh. And remember that if animals could, they would. Enjoy.

Awesome Family Fun!!!,
This review is from: Furry Vengeance (DVD)
I thought this movie was cute and perfect to watch with your kids. I honestly don't know why it has such low ratings. It's very funny. Brendan Fraser stars as a real estate developer named Dan Sanders who is planning to tear down the forest and build a mall. The animals of the forest soon decide to take matters into their own paws and make Dan's life miserable, until he realizes what they want. Dan's wife, Tammy doesn't believe him about the animals, and insists that he gets therapy. During an eco friendly fair, the animals will have their revenge against the man who is making Dan destroy the forest. If you love comedies, and children's movies, you'll love FURRY VENGEANCE!!!

Brendan Fraser loots comedy gold!,

So, Brendan Fraser may be known for overacting a bit. Maybe a lot of overacting. While there aren't any mummies in this movie, there's a lot of slapstick humour at Brendan Fraser's expense. If you have ever tried to sleep in a new place, and that one noise keeps you awake just as you're about to fall asleep, as if the birds are making fun of you, you'll know what Brendan Fraser is feeling. The animals are out to get him, and I'm not going to lie, it's pretty damn funny. It's pretty over the top, the squirrels have a mousetrap like traps in the mountains, as if they're fricking Ewoks attacking SUVs. The movie has a pretty basic "save the community, save the planet" type message, something that young kids should have no problem picking up. And really, kids will love this movie. It doesn't just have animals, it has funny animals acting like people. It has pranks which involve port-a-potties and skunks. This movie is comedy gold. Not only that, but certain pranks are repeated several times, so you know exactly what's going to happen again! Being sprayed by skunks once, that's funny. Being sprayed again later? Classic. The ending of the movie even has a squadron of dive-bombing seagulls dropping white goo on the big bad CEO and his flunky, while Brendan Fraser becomes the new town hero. It's a cheesy feel-good ending, after the animals have spent most of the movie making him their pet project. This is a good movie for a road trip, to keep the kids busy in the back seat while you head out camping. Remind them of animals and the environment before you get there, so they keep the camp clean.

Kids might love it for cartoonish silliness, but not adults,
By Jeff Johnson "Jeff Johnson" (Chicago, IL) - See all my reviews

I love Brandon Fraser, but this movie is difficult to like. A bunch of animals take out their hatred on an unlikable man that is pigeonholed by his boss to spearhead turning their forest into a housing development. The animal trainers deserve a medal and the people that special effected the animals. I don't mean talking Disney animals. I mean real animals that don't talk. Occasionally they have thought bubbles, but it just looks cheap. Skunks spray him, raccoons end up in his car, crows peck at his window when he's getting sleep and several animals have an elaborate plan to kill people by bashing their cars off cliffs (their plan looks like the game Mousetrap). The supporting cast of his wife and son are just "there." They don't do much other than look at Brandon like he's crazy. This movie would be a more crowd pleasing if these were Disney talking animals and if Brandon played a clear cut evil villain like Cruella Deville. Maybe if this movie were less real and more cartoonish it would be better. Another thing wrong with the movie is product placement, there's a lot of it, everything from "Who wants a new Wii," to iPhones and iMacs everywhere.

Just a fun movie... Brendan Fraser is a Family Fun silly Jerry Lewis type - (and very cute, which doesn't hurt!) check out the George in the Jungle movies too if you find this movie amusing. As for the reviewer about the "danger" the animals cause - "OH Come on!!" I am an avid animal lover - and as "real" animals could never do these things (we hope!!!) this is just FUN!! Great for family nights! And, to boot, the movie has a message about saving our open spaces and the animals within them. Awesome.

After seeing a trailer for this movie I thought it would be really funny and cute. I was a little disappointed in the actual movie. It has some cute scenes, but overall it was less funny than I hoped for. I still enjoyed it though.

I have watched this movie a few times with my kids and I think it's hilarious! Some of these people who gave bad reviews should just lighten up!! It's a silly movie with no deep, dark themes, something you can relax to and laugh about. I thought Brendan Fraser was great as the dad. I would love to watch this again with my kids, any time!
