All I have to say is I feel sorry for whoever gets kicked by one of these it will hurt them BAD!!!
steven M.
Unlike the picture shows, you can lace the show or boot laces through the holes in the kuba kickz for a much stronger hold to the shoe.

Really a great self defense tool, when used with a dark pair of pants and shoes they NEVER see it coming.

I bought these because I live in California. As you may know, just about everything is illegal here, including brass and plastic knuckles. I'm sure these would be illegal too if only some state legislator heard about them.

Appearance/Wear:
When I first received these (I ordered two. Keep in mind the price you see is for ONE only), they were bigger than I had anticipated. The points are blunt enough that you won't have to worry about stabbing through your pants or anything, but they're definitely sharp enough to rip up your opponent's shins. I laced them into my boots and was surprised at how well they hid. They're still plainly visible if you're looking for them, but the average person would never notice a thing. If they did, they'd assume it was some fashion accessory that came with your boots. They are very light and they do not decrease your shoe's comfort level at all (unless maybe you had a very thin shoe tongue).

Effectiveness:
While these things aren't going to end a fight on their own, I could definitely see these helping level the playing field. A solid kick to unprotected shins would probably draw blood. A kick to a meatier target like the thigh would probably cause some painful tissue damage. Think about the force generated by a good kick, but instead of distributing that force over your whole foot, focus it onto a surface area slightly larger than a pencil eraser. These are basically plastic knuckles for your feet. If I ever used these, it would probably be with low kicks to the shin and calf.

Summary:
Don't expect these to miraculously transform you into a cage fighter, but these are worthwhile addition to your preexisting skill set and tool set. Honestly, the price is way to high for these, but if you have some money to burn go ahead and buy them.

At first I must say I found this item one of those days I was checking a series of concealed weapons in Amazon, from the many available options, the Kuba-kickz was the best.

At first I ordered one set, to give them a try.

When I got it I immediately tried it, I was afraid I was going lo lose it just by simply walking, as you just slip it under the shoelaces. I also tried a few kicks and they do the job.

So I ordered a new set in August, the best part is until now no one has noticed, my boots are black of course, they are really a concealed weapon.

Product is great, it is lightweight but strong enough to cause serious damage if necessary.
Please be aware that if you require a complete set, meaning two, you must specify so in quantity.
Product does not specify this.

It's the only reason why I rate the product with 4 stars!
Other than that, they are great!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Every time I neglect to read the customer reviews, EVERY time, something bad happens. In this case, had I read the reviews I would know that these are only sold one at a time, and not in pairs. Shoes are sold in pairs, shoe laces are sold in pairs, so naturally, one would assume that things that are supposed to go on your shoes would also come in pairs, especially when you are paying over $10 for something made out of a few cents worth of plastic. That being said, they are exactly what they claim to be, seem very sturdy, and will definitely add some punch to your kick. The holes drilled in the base of each individually sold unit are most likely lightening holes, but you CAN run your laces through them if you so choose. I ran them through just the bottom row to help keep them centered. They are tough, light, and pointy, everything they are supposed to be, other than sold in pairs...

These are exactly as described. They are an incredibly hard plastic and after a few moments of testing them with my roommate, they are very effective. You don't need any specialized training to use these effectively. Just to clarify: you only get one, not a pair. I picked up two and I couldn't be more satisfied with the product.

Great product! In any quick confrontation the
perpetrator's initial intent is to look straight ahead. Little do they know you have a little
surprise on your boots!

I bought this with another personal protection item. I have inserted this in my sneaker, and haven't taken it out. I actually forget it's there. Not noticeable in black sneakers. It will do a bit of damage if I kick someone.

I jog alone, and I do highly recommend this for any woman who is concerned about personal safety.

As other reviews have stated, if you want two you need to order two. These are a great idea but be cautious. They are dangerous to the recipent, as well as the deliverer. Despite how much training you may have in proper kicking techniques, these can cause some serious damage to your feet. Mainly because of their narrow profile. The base of each spike is about the diameter of a dime, and the platform extends about 1/4" on each side. So, in the split second you may decide to use them you can easily hit the recipent at a funny angle causing the Kickz to fold to one side, and depending on the force implemented, they can go as far 90 degrees which would easily destroy ligament and severly damage the tiny bones in your feet. Now I'm not trying to deter anybody from purchasing these because they are a great product and i would purchase them again in a second. Just trying to prevent someone getting hurt. So heres what I did to make them more effective:

I first tried to go with larger laces and strategically tightened them around the spikes and through the small holes that go around the platform, which I believe someone commented that they were useless. That may be, but it definitely made a difference in my opinion. The problem with the laces being so tight in that area on a pair of running shoes as well as boots made it just plain uncomfortable to wear for extended periods of time. So what I did that made these things absolutely perfect is, I cut 2 small pieces of 1/4" aluminum about 2 1/4" X 3", took a ball pien hammer to each piece to round them out just a small ammount, to compensate the slight contour of my foot, then took a grinder to the edges to round out the edges so they dont affect my shoes. then used a combination of metal-to-plastic modeling glue, then a layer of gorilla glue to put the aluminum on the Kickz. it may seem like a lot just for these little guys but I like the idea so much i couldn't bring myself to return them.
