This device makes a great gift for birthdays or graduations. If you have young people in your family who love their smart phones, they will be surprised to get this gadget that they probably haven't seen because it's so new. I got one for myself and I love the fact that I can see who is calling without picking up my phone from the counter. I use my phone as my bedroom clock so it's handy on my night stand too. Around Christmas time several friends who visited my house asked about it and decided it would make a great gift for their adult sons and daughters that are hard to buy for.

Ok, so I was a bit hesitant about this thing at first, I've found with a lot of accessory products for my various Apple gear they either look great and fail, or work like a charm and make my desk look like a CNC operator's. So I pulled this thing out of the (really cool) packaging, and - as usual, set the instructions aside and popped it on my machine... straight out and up, and honestly a bit pessimistic given its slim, sleek-looking design.

I'd been wooed by beautiful design before, and I must say that I started to put on the old 'I knew it' face as it started to lean a bit. Meantime, my gf was looking over the instructions and suggested I coil it like the picture, 'center of gravity' type of thing. So I gave it one or two coils (like- apparently, I was supposed to... whoopsie) and... VOILA: apparently both Isaac Newton AND 'Fuse Chicken' were BOTH correct.

It worked like a DREAM. Tall, shiny, coiled up modern cobra-looking iphone holder. I use it on my laptop, work machine etc... even worked in my car when I tried it (I coiled it a few more times to keep it lower in case I hit any major bumps). LOVE this thing, keeps desk clutter away, avoids spills for my $400 phone, I FaceTime with both hands free using my computer.

So simple, and so cool. I bought 3 more for gifts, and they loved'em too. Out of the park guys, and reasonably priced (especially compared to other Apple gear like extra power supplies etc, unbelievable). Just beware... don't be an utter dope like me and avoid instructions wherever possible, even ones this simple.

Recommend this product, and hoping to see an iPhone 5 version at some point for my gf? And maybe me, if Santa is good to me this round...

The structure of the device struggles to support the weight of an iPhone. If you do manage to balance an iPhone after many different twists and iterations, the support is still wobbly.

As a camera stand, it is too shaky to be used under challenging lighting conditions. In the car, it is totally useless, so I'm at a loss for a practical use for this device.

Just received my Une Bobine and what a terrific product. I've tried a number of configurations including hanging from the rearview mirror. This device has great utility and I'm frequently now getting lots of office colleagues asking what the heck it is. Good conversation piece for sure. Also, I had a few questions on connectivity and the customer service was absolutely outstanding and responsive. One of the best interactions I've had for a very long time. The company provided very quick results/responses to my questions. I also find it fun to visit the website as they show pictures of creative ways of using the device. For the price its a great deal also. Its one of those "wish I thought of this" products to have in your staple of phone add-ons. Easily tucks into back-pack. Would be cool if they offered different color options. Again, I'd highly recommend the product and I set the bar pretty high.

i like this. I am not sure how useful it is in the car. But I use it to hold my Iphone 4s vertically for face time. Another use, while I am working on at my desk to look at something on the phone. This keeps the phone at a nice 45 degree angle instead on completely flat on the desk. The connector looks really nice on my desk. I made my wife laugh when I had the Iphone held up with this while my son's Iron Man action figure looked like he was holding it.

I purchased this because I thought it would hold my iphone like it showed in the photos...wrong!It doesn't hold it upright and now I have another wire for my phone that was pretty expensive. If I could return it I would.

Very hard to get it to hold the weight of your phone. As a power plug, it's very finicky. Don't try it in your car. Doesn't work there either.

Not strong enough to provide the single intended function.

Can't hold up my Galaxy S3 in any position without falling over.
