3.0 out of 5 stars Good buy at $30 August 18, 2013

I'd been looking for a good drop-in/drop-out co-op shooter and was eager to pick this up until I heard about the drawbacks (bland characters, level design, weapons, etc). When this hit $30 I decided to grab it. The game is fairly generic and short, with the only real originality in the FUSE weapons each character gets. The graphics are average, technically good but artistically merely competent. The production value seems fairly high, but there's just nothing in this game that is mind blowing. The campaign has a very "been there/done that" vibe.

The network code seems solid as I haven't experienced any drops or lag in co-op. The AI is pretty good and can prove challenging at times. I really wouldn't recommend this at any higher than $30, and I wouldn't be surprised if it is a gold box deal soon for $20 or less. It's fun if you have some buddies to play through it with, and the hoard mode echelon should give it some decent replay value. It's just not unique enough to go out of your way to pick up.

5.0 out of 5 stars different, but a lot of fun April 10, 2014

This game is unlike any i have played in a while. Each character has a very unique super power. Seemed cheesy at the start, almost turned it off. Once my wife and I got into it we loved it. We bought it because of its offline Coop ability. This mode was fun. did not play online. It is no Borderlands, but it is fun.

4.0 out of 5 stars fast paced August 22, 2013

Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
This game is fun and fast paced, I didn't give it 5 stars because it felt a little repetitive, but overall fun to play, I still haven't beaten it though.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fused and Abused. December 4, 2014

Let me sum up Fuse for you. Fuse is life. Fuse is the answer. Fuse is the way, it's the feeling. It's the word. In the words of the immortal Bill Withers, "Just keep on fusin me, until you fuse me up."

This game has a horrible plot, with laughable cut scenes, and characters that were probably written by a six year old, who was having an off day, and isn't the best writer in his grammar school anyway.

Having said that: This game offers full campaign co-op, either couch or online. That was the only reason I got it, so that my brother and I could have fund fighting through a semi-long campaign online (we live in different states).

It was well worth the money, as the game was totally fun, with a good number of bad guys (though, on a philosophical note, what makes a person "bad?" Is it nature or nurture?). These things aside, the game was really, really fun, and I would say that my brother and I liked it better than many of the more polished games (like REsident Evil 6) that take themselves a little too seriously and have more complicated mechanics. This game was simple, yet challenging enough to be fun to play several times through.

That is all...

Despite the bad reviews, this game is pretty awesome and extremely fun to play, solo or coop. I am giving the game 4 stars only because the story could have expanded and been a lot deeper than it was as well as explain more of what is going on. Regardless, this game is the most polished 3rd person shooter that I have ever played. I put the duck and cover, climbing (sometimes hanging and shooting), and just easy to use controls way above even the bigger titles like Gears of War series, Resident Evil ORC, Resident Evil 6, Army of Two series, Vanquish, Quantum Theory, and so on. The controls are so well polished and this is how those other games listed should play as far as controls and movement. The game doesn't feel stiff or feel awkward at times when sprinting around and evading enemies on the map. Even if you play this game solo, if you fall in battle the game allows the AI to come save you as long as they can get to you and if they haven't fallen in battle themselves. They can also save each other so you don't have to do all the work yourself.
