5.0 out of 5 stars Who says anime don't have plots grown ups would like?, June 8, 1999
By A Customer
This tape, of the Mysterious Play series, is truly a masterpiece that will draw the attention of any person that watches it. The story switchs from being a happy-go-lucky tale of a girl lost in another world, and becames an epic of: love, betrayal, and revenge. Miaka and Yui take on entirely different dimensions, as their friendship is destroyed and replaced with hatred. The only thing that anyone whom watches this tape can do, is rush after the next tape to find out what's going to happen.

Though there is a drastic turn in plot, the show still maintains that same quality in visual anime divinity and the music quality that is next to none. However, the mood takes on a level that is all of it's own.

This series definately gets two thumbs up.

5.0 out of 5 stars Spellbinding. A total cliffhanger!, May 29, 1999

This review is from: Fushigi Yugi - The Mysterious Play - Dark Reunion (Vol. 6) [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This is the most astounding of the tapes yet so far. I was so enthralled in the though of an evil Tamahome, how kawaii... that isn't really important (if you want spoilers go to anipike and look up Fushigi)but what's yet to come is even more astounding. You have to see it to believe it. I won't spoil the killer plot, but you will be amazed... *^_^* - Miaka (guess what? I'm the first to submit a review on this movie -- seeing as it just came out on Tuesday, May 25 and today is the 29.)

5.0 out of 5 stars Check it out!, August 11, 2000
This review is from: Fushigi Yugi - The Mysterious Play - Dark Reunion (Vol. 6) [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Fushigi Yugi is like the bomb! First off, it's totally blows Sailormoon away. It's a really cool series. It's my fav in all anime. It's about this girl who travels to another world to become the priestess of the god of the south, Suzaku, and then on her journey of summoning this god, she learns betrayal, friendship, jealousy, love, and what life is really all about. Well, It doesn't hurt that there a ALOT of cute guys here. I recommend this to anyone who loves anime, especially Sailormoon fans. Although, it can get mushy between Miaka, the Priestess of Suzaku, and one of her warriors, the drop-dead gorgeous, Tomahome! Of course, the girls who saw this series would agree with me on the cute guys part, but if any guys read my review at all, there are pretty girls too. Well, Just check it out!

I watched the entire fushigi yugi series and I think it is the best Japanimation, story there is. I have a huge Japanese animation collection and from all of my series like Record of Lodoss War, Legend of Crystania, Ranma 1/2, Bastard, Neon Genesis Evangelion and Dragon Ball. Still Fushigi yugi is what I like the best.

Fushigi yugi is the best series and it's the best japanimation you'll ever watch. Buy your copy now before it's too late.

This review is from: Fushigi Yugi - The Mysterious Play - Dark Reunion (Vol. 6) [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Well, i guess i will be the next to review this tape. Fushigi Yugi has the best japanese voices i have heard in animes, so i encourage u to get the SUB version more. but if u cant, then settle for dub. now, if u think this is great, u should wait til the second half of the episodes (27-52). I am not ashamed to say that i cried and cried and cried in the second half of this anime!

5.0 out of 5 stars Dark Reunion twists the plot into its darkened splendor..., June 2, 1999
By A Customer
Anyone who says Fushigi Yugi is just another magical romance tale is definitely off the mark! As demonstrated in the most recent volumes, the tone is getting more serious--and there's more to come! Dark Reunion documents more tension between the Lady Yui and Lady Miaka, and ends with a twist that leaves one pining to see the next volume. An excellent story!
