5.0 out of 5 stars Stunning Conclusion, September 8, 2001
By
Eve Browning Cole (Duluth, Minnesota United States) - See all my reviews
This set is the second half of the Fushigi Yugi series. The series just gets better and better, as Miaka sets out to collect the Shinzaho, an item that will let her summon the beast god Suzaku and have her wishes fulfilled. Her problems complicate as the Shinzaho falls into the hands of her enemies, and when all hope seems lost, she gets help from unexpected sources.
The plot is excellently written, and beautiful animation brings this series to life. If you liked the first half, you'll love the superb conclusion to Fushigi Yugi; the best anime series ever.

5.0 out of 5 stars All I can say is WOW!, November 15, 2001
When I saw the first episode of Fushigi Yugi, I didn't think I would enjoy it. By the 3rd episode, I was drawn in and glued to the screen. Although I had to wait about 5 months to see the 2nd half, it was WELL worth the wait. The conclusion is absolutley wonderful and I recommend this series to everyone out there, even the adults, who can get drawn is as easily as us teenagers!

5.0 out of 5 stars ~, March 13, 2003
By A Customer
I'm not an avid anime fan, but my friend is. She drags me to watch all her droning anime series, most of which did not enthrall me. However, when she introduced a more-than-skeptical me to FY...consider me bewitched. Absolutely! This anime contains all the elements of a deftly crafted series. No movie, TV show, or other such had engaged me as much Fushigi Yuugi. I've never been so emotionally connected to any other show. The plot and characters are chiseled with such precision...and each episode very effectively beguiles you to watch the next. It's inspiring...every minute is a breath of fantasy... it's as if you're living in an epic.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing, August 15, 2002
By
Aya (Peoria, IL United States) - See all my reviews
I'm sorry to say I don't have this box set. It didn't come out until after I had most of the second half of the 52 episodes, but since I do have the tapes, all of the episodes, I can say something about it. It's a lot easier to get all episodes in a box set of this anime. There's so many tapes and this really helps them stay organized. I have the Suzaku box set all in order and organized, but the tapes the belong in the Seiryu box set that don't have are all over the place. Anyhow at the end of episode 26 and throughtout the rest of the Seiryu box it starts getting really upsetting and sad. A lot of deaths, a lot of sorrow and grief. At the end it kind of leaves you hanging, but there are OVA's. Thank god! When I had finished all 52 episodes I was so upset that there wasn't anymore, but I read into it more and found the tapes of OVA's. This is very good anime. Fushigi Yugi is my favorite anime of all time, next to Ceres Celestial Legend a.k.a Ayashi No Ceres also may I add written by Yu Watase. Phenomenal writer! She has gotten a forever loyal fan out of me!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fushigi Yuugi, Seiryuu Boxset, June 18, 2001
By
This review is from: Fushigi Yugi - The Mysterious Play - Seiryu Boxed Set [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Because it's not released yet, I haven't bought the VHS set. But I have seen the DVD videos in subtitles. The second season of Fushigi Yuugi (Mysterious Play in English), deals with the battle over the Shinzaho and a race against time for Yuuki Miaka and Hongo Yui, who, as explained in the first season, were best friends up until Miaka finds the book "Shi Jin Ten Cho Sho", (The Four Gods of Sky and Earth), and Miaka is appointed the position of Suzaku no Miko, and shortly afterwards she falls in love with Tamahome, one of her guardians- unfortunately for Miaka, Yui also loves this handsome martial artist.

This season ends the spectacular story that I guarantee will make you feel every emotion each character feels at the last episode, and the season itself keeps you on your toes at all times. This is a must have for any anime/manga fan.
