I work in both watercolor and acrylic and one thing I find challenging is how floppy some watercolor brushes are- I have a relatively heavy hand and I gravitate towards stiffer brushes. I have been trying to find a stiffer brush that both holds it's shape as I paint and also holds a fair amount of liquid (I know by choosing a stiffer brush, I am sacrificing how much liquid the brush can hold). It's been a challenge, but finally I decided to give these brushes a try and I love them.

The Fusion brushes are quite stiff (very very stiff for a watercolor brush, about average for acrylic/oil brush) and keep their point as I work with them, despite the fact I am using a very fluid water-based paint- a lot of bristle brushes just collapse in water. The Fusion brushes also hold quite a bit of liquid/pigment- not enough to do a big wash, but enough to fill in small areas and do detail work, which is why I wanted them.

As far as brush quality, the handles are a gold-painted wood which has held up to a bit of scrubbing so far and the ferrules seem tightly closed and no bristles have shed as of yet. You get a complete set of brushes in this set- from a very fine 20/0 to an 8, all rounds. The brushes hold their shape, both in use with paint and after being washed after painting. For the price, it's a great value.

If you are in the market for a stiff watercolor brush (or a decent set of acrylic brushes), I recommend these.
