Product Description
Providing a place for guests to sleep usually means devoting an entire room, but with this futon and sofa design, you get the comfort and fold-up functionality of a futon bed plus the style and space-saving aspects of a sofa. It is easy and inexpensive to make the simple frame for the bed and sofa. Standard board sizes are specified and the folding mechanism uses common hinges and roller wheels. Parts fasten mainly with screws which are concealed with solid wood plugs. The table is also easy to make. Full-size, traceable patterns are given for all the parts so you can transfer outlines directly to the material. Largest of the two projects is the sofa at 91 inches wide x 36 inches deep. The bed utilizes a standard, queen-size futon mattress (60 x 80 inches). The table is 18 inches high x 36 inches wide x 18 inches deep.
