Futurama Meets Famous Artwork,
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Futurama 2009 Wall Calendar (Calendar)
The theme of last year's calender was movie poster parodies, this year it's famous artwork parodies and they're all great. I couldn't be more pleased with my purchase.
I wish Amazon would put up an actual picture of all the drawings for the months. I'll have to do it myself for anyone that's on the edge of making this purchase.

I'm really glad I found this calendar shopping today. I love futurama and art, so this was a really cool find.
And if you're like me, I'm sure you want to know the paintings used. Here they are: January - Edvard Munch "The Scream" February - M. C. Escher "Bond of Union" March- Alexander Calder "Lobster Trap and Fish Tail" April - James McNeill Whistler "Arrangement in Grey and Black: The Artist's Mother (Whistler's Mother)" May - Andy Warhol "Double Elvis" June - Leonardo da Vinci "Mona Lisa" July - John Singleton Copley "Watson and the Shark" August - Grant Wood "American Gothic" September - Roy Lichtenstein "Blam!" October - Gustav Klimt "The Three Ages of Woman - Mother and Child" November - Leonardo da Vinci "The Vitruvian Man" December - Sandro Botticelli "The Birth of Venus"

Futurama and great art, what could be better? Great art with a futurama twist! The classic images of M.C. Escher,Edward Munch, da Vinci, and even Andy Warhol, are wonderfully recreated with our favorite Futurama characters. A must for any fan of the series!

Even though I am a HUGE Futurama fan (so glad to have the four new dvd's) and have not missed a single Futurama calendar, I just did not like the 2009 calendar and its art theme. I never thought I would give two stars to anything Futurama-related, but making parallels with well known artwork did not do anything for me; I replaced it with a Stars Wars Clone Wars calendar. Nevertheless, I am already planning on buying the 2010 Futurama calendar. Fry and the gang are so addictive!

Wow - way to review the wrong item.,

These reviews are all for a BOOK (well, comic book, really), but the product being reviewed is not a book, but a CALENDAR.
How can Amazon get things so jaw-droppingly wrong? |
