10 years ago, youth soccer players in America had no professional players to look up to. This video is one of a kind in that it takes you into the lives of some of the brightest young stars in American soccer. Everything from the color of Eddie Pope's first youth soccer jersey to Ben Olsen's childhood nickname. An entertaining look at Olsen's,Joseph's, and Pope's specialized techniques as well as their individual accounts of growing up and playing soccer in America. This video is a great step toward getting American soccer the recognition that it deserves.

Not your typical how-to video (though there's a lot of inside performance tips of how soccer is really played) but a great story of how three individuals from varying backgrounds made it to the "big time." Hard work and determination still have a place in pro sports and the players featured are real people whom you really get to know. This is a video you'll want to watch over and over, there's so much in it.

My name is Jerry Moyer. I am a former college soccer player at Penn State, and professional player with 5 orgainzations including the Washington Diplomats and Philadelphia Freedom. My company, Big Kick Inc., produced this tape. Our intent was to provide an up-close account of how Eddie Pope, Ben Olsen, and Miles Joseph made it to the top of United States Soccer. This is not your typical boring skills and drills tape. Instructional components are in the tape, "Tech. Tips", but not the focus of the tape. This is designed for the person who wants the insight into how they made it. After viewing this film, you will know Eddie, Ben and Miles as though you lived next door to them. They open up and share everything they did to become the success they are. I know you will enjoy the tape.

The Future of American Soccer is a great account of how three American soccer stars made it to the top. The films gives valuable insight into the difficultiis encountered at each level and methods to overcome them. I really enjoyed the technical tips scattered throughout. The best part is that Eddie Pope, Ben Olsen, and Miles Joseph are great role models! This is a must see for any youth soccer player, parent or coach.
