From the Publisher
Every well-stocked business bookshelf should have them: Seven Habits, The Goal, Zapp and now Future At Work.
However, Future At Work, is just as likely to be found in a lunch box or a briefcase, or at a workbench as well as on a desktop.
Seldom does "one-size-fit-all." That is, until you read this book.
Critical concepts for personal and business success are presented in a down-to-earth memorable manner.
Every profession, every job has basics. Future At Work covers the basic-basics of all jobs with chapters on: "Why managing your attitude is part of your job," "Why aren't people listening to what you have to say," "Why you inevitably are what you repeatedly do," "Why some people need to be supervised (and others don't)," to the last chapter which asks, "Is 99% good enough?"
Just joining the workforce or re-tooling yourself for something new, this book makes sure you get back to the basics and don't forget the essentials.
From the Author
Having worked in corporate America for over twenty-five years, I have met thousands of people in a wide variety of employment situations. Some people were "winning" at work and others were not. We have all experienced some degreee of workplace failure. What is extremely unfortunate is to observe people who continue to fail, repeating the same mistakes -- when there are answers that were just missed.
Eventually, these folks blame others for their lack of success or vastly underestimate their true potential.
Truth is, there is a basic set of skills and behaviors, which will create the success we all desire.
Future@Work "fills in all the blanks" for workplace success. Easily arranged from "A" (Attitude) to "Z" (Zero Defects) there are twenty-six easy-to-read chapters which cover the basics. Each chapter has several cartoon illustrations to help you retain critical concepts. Finally, each chapter ends with a set of questions to challenge you to apply what you have learned.
It is my sincere desire, that reading this book will provide the answers you may have been seeking for personal and career success. Aren't you and your future worth an investment in you? Do you know someone else who would benefit from a review of the basics of workplace success?
Please write, I would like to hear from you.
