5.0 out of 5 stars Interesting and great illustrations, May 9, 2007
This review is from: Future Cities: Homes and Living into the 21st Century (World of the Future) (Hardcover)
I read the Chinese version of this book when I was a kid. For a children's book, it's surprisingly insightful. It's also interesting to see how some of the preditions in the book have come true. The illustrations are great too. I find this book pretty inspiring even for an adult and I highly recommend it especially if you like sci-fi.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolute classic, March 7, 2008
This review is from: Future Cities: Homes and Living into the 21st Century (World of the Future) (Hardcover)
I remember this from my childhood! It's full of great predictions about the future, about how we're all going to be living in bubbles on the moon by the year 2000, etc. Some of it was quite prescient, e.g. there's stuff about pollution, environmentalism, camcorders and satellite TV. Other stuff, like cylindrical space cities, was perhaps a bit overoptimistic. Today, it's a great retro read!

As a youth I spent countless hours pouring over this book. I still have it on my shelf and have passed on to my kids. Humanity used to dream big - Ad Astra!
