5.0 out of 5 stars Don't be afraid, go ahead and buy it
I hesitated to buy this record...because who knows what in the world was going to be on the CD?!? It's not like Unknown Hinson is going to be something you'll hear on the radio. I saw the CD Cover in a store and thought I had to hear some of this guy's music, went to his website and got hooked.

This CD is very, very good. The songs really are funny, and I generally do...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as I thought it was going to be.
Saw Unkown Hinson on Bob and Tom, and heard a few songs on Outlaw Country. Most tracks are pretty good, but over all a little dissapointing.

The songs really are funny, and I generally do not like funny songs. But this goes way beyond Weird Al or Ray Stevens or anything like that. The songs ARE funny, but they are expertly performed. I was really impressed with The Unknown Hinson's musical capabilities. He was great on this record. The record manages to maintain a classic country feel even when singing the most unexpected lyrics I've ever come across. It was funny, but somehow this music does not seem to become reptitive or boring.

I think he has really created something here. I'll buy the next one when it becomes available. I'm impressed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Candidate For the Next David Lynch Movie, April 19, 2004

Okay the music is astonishing but what really needs to happen with Unknown is to star in an upcoming David Lynch movie. This guy must have inspired Blue Velvet but how is that possible when he was serving time in the county jail? This guy gives new meaning to the term "dark." Unknown transcends dark, he transcends art, he transcends human. Maybe this is a new way to be human. After listening to "The Future is Unknown" he gets my vote for new artist of the year, theologian of the year and philospher of the year! "Rawk" is not dead, it's alive! It's alive!

The future is Unknown, baby! This is the second set of chart toppin' Unknown hits. Not for the "politically correct" in any sense of the word. My favorite cuts included "The Trunk of My Cadillac Car" (a typical Unknown "date"), "Hippie Girl" (Unknown's encounter with a co-ed), "Fishcamp Woman (LIVE)" (sample line "Fishcamp woman...baby I like the way you smell."), and my personal favorite: "Foggy Windows" (call the "law dawgs" if you want). One of the funniest things I have ever heard in my life. Unknown is faithful to the genre while he makes fun of it. He also happens to be a fantastic guitar player. If you ever get the chance to see this guy in concert...don't miss it. Who cares if he is a country-western singing vampire? Get your hands on all things Unknown!

5.0 out of 5 stars If I could give it a "10" I would. BUY THIS CD!, March 26, 2004

You will be amazed by the outrageous humor and the unbelievable musical talent on this CD. Totally entertaining and great party music. My son who is 16, and my mother who is 63, both love it - even though it is pretty dark humor. Weird, wild and wonderful.

5.0 out of 5 stars This isn't your regular country jam., May 24, 2005

This guy reminds me a little of Ray Stevens, except it's more mature oriented. His guitar playing is actually pretty good. He's also right clever in his use of lyrics. Funny stuff. I liked it.

5.0 out of 5 stars What does Wrestling, Pabst Blue Ribbon, and Vampires have in Common?, November 10, 2006

Unknown Hinson -

A mixture of Ernest T. Bass meets Merle Haggard. Reminds me of the Flat Duo Jets during the late 80's/ early 90's. Rednecks unite!...or shall I say Redneck Vampires unite.

The lyrics are about as campy and sophmoric as you can get, but had me rolling on the floor crying with laughter. The music is catchy and memorable. This guy can play guitar well and has some great hooks.

I actually began singing with the songs. To those that don't get it and aren't old enough to get it - listen to the music as love songs being sung to Brittany Spears or Jessica Simpson(redneck wannabe)....ahh now you understand.

If you like big breasted women, Pabst Blue Ribbon, Wrestling, Vampires, and rockabilly - you-ins will definitely love this band.

I'm glad to see one of my probationer's make it big :)

Some new tunes and old favorites for long-time fans! "Foggy Windows" is still my favorite, but "I Cleaned Out A Room (In My Trailer For You),"Lingerie," "Peace, Love, and Hard Liquor," "I Quit All That Mess" and plenty of others cement The King's place in music history. Hell, he is music history. Buy this CD!!! As a matter of fact, forget all that rock mess that any idiot can play and buy a couple dozen copies of the CD, stand on the street corner and pass 'em out to people. The King'll thank you for it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Original Uniphone Records collector CD - factory sealed, October 5, 2009
This CD is brand new, and comes with signed 1999 Unknown Hinson show ticket and and Unknown Hinson sticker. It is NOT a used item as described in the editorial review. Editorial review is incorrect and can't seem to delete it.

I once asked a friend of mine if it would even be possible to make Country music good... If you made it evil or something. I don't know that Unknown Hinson is evil, but he's a vampire, and apparently that's enough. Great album, and it's hilarious.

5.0 out of 5 stars You'll be singing all of these songs, August 14, 1999
By A Customer

He's a great live show and that same energy comes across in the CD too. There is no way to detail the assets of this performance - catchy lyrics, very funny dark humor, top notch musicianship, well, you just have to hear it.
