This review is from: Future Medicine: Ethical Dilemmas, Regulatory Challenges, and Therapeutic Pathways to Health Care and Healing in Human Transformation (Paperback)

This book is excellent. Mr. Cohen has taken this subject to heart and it is obvious that he has extensive experience, knowledge and compassion about the many issues that practitioners of Complementary Therapies are confronted with.

As a practitioner and teacher of the Japanese Healing system known as Reiki, as well as the former President of the Board of a non-profit organization whose purpose was to educate and lobby state legislators to support a health freedom bill in Florida, I know too well, many of the issues that he addresses in this fine book.

Many of the issues that he discusses with intelligence and passion have been on my mind and those of other practitioners for many years. I wish that I had known about this wonderful book during my years of involvement with the movement. I believe that I would have had a much more balanced perspective and would have worked from a more centrally based understanding of the issues as seen from a medical/legal viewpoint, rather than approaching my goals from an 'us versus them' mindset.

Although this book was written almost a decade ago, the issues confronted and discussed therein are more pertinent today than ever. I highly recommend it to anyone who is a practitioner or client of any complementary therapy; as well as to all professionals in the medical field. Mr. Cohen speaks directly to the heart of the matter and offers many delightful and deeply thought out suggestions for change and the inevitable partnership of Allopathic medicine with complementary therapies that are available and in use world wide today, some old as well as new.

Thank you Mr. Cohen for bringing such clarity to the subject.
