5.0 out of 5 stars Paranoia
I was skeptical of this album, but picked it up, because Pete Rock, DJ Premier, Large Professor, and Juju all have beats on it. I've never been a huge fan of horrorcore, or Necro, but this is a paranoid masterpiece. The production is as schizophrenic as the lyrics and while the lyrics are not extremely complex, they are at times quite witty and humorous. The chemistry...

3.0 out of 5 stars Sorry this is not a classic
This album has almost the same line up of producers as the classic album Illmatic, but it's not the classic album as I hoped it was.
It's definitely worth a listen, you probably like it, but don't have too high expectations.

The chemistry between the emcees is very apparent, and their intensity melds very well with the beats. In fact, although they meld very well with the beats from Primier, Extra P, Juju, and Pete Rock, they come off best over Necro's (who is Ill Bill's brother) beats. Time will tell if this album ends up holding any sort of classic status, but for now it is an excellent listen. For those unfamiliar with Non-Phixion they come of kind of like Jedi Mind Tricks on PCP.

A near classic debut from Sabac, Bill, Eclipse, and Goretex, pure, unadulterated hip-hop with beats from Necro, the Beatnuts, Dj Premier (!!!!), Large Professor, and Pete Rock. Phenomenal.

Bill,Sabac, and Chunk finally release an album to the mainstream and they do not fail to amaze me with this album. These guys flow off each others lyrics so nicely and the beat are some of the tightest beats ever.Necro is amazing.A lot of people, myself included, do not like suicide bomb, cuz its a corny compilation, but whether these guys release songs that have been out for years(Black Helicopters),dare to mess with your mind with a crazy sounding track(Strange Universe,There is no future),rap over a primo or pete rock beat(Rock stars,If you got love),or just hit you in the head with anti-government rap(The CIA is trying to kill me),these guys are nothing short of amazing.Plus mear-ones cover artwork is amazing.Look at all the crazy stuff on the cover.Buy this cd, you will not be disappointed.Whether you like mainstream or underground rap, this cd is for everyone. They don't sell out and do corny music, but still have songs that could be on the radio.BUY THE FUTURE IS NOW,NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars aww, too underground ugly for you., January 27, 2005
This review is from: Future Is Now (Audio CD)
i agree with dan dubs on the genious of doc wicked's review. if your tired of "snake tripe" like some of us are check out the branches off nonphixion, otherwise stick to commercial savvy (em) and the sappy g-unit chumpstyle. rockstars to suicidebomb, cultleader to blackhelicopters, drugmusic to goodbye to yesterday. these guys can and will take a shot. i'm not a thug but i still have the capacity to relate to what's gone on here simply because i live in the real world.

5.0 out of 5 stars Clever hip-hop, skillful rhythms from Non-Phixion, July 28, 2003

Non-Phixion is hip-hop for the mind & body. This album contains many clever tracks about conspiracy topics and has some talented guest producers and musicians. Black Helicopters is an old track, but probably their best. I wish they would have also included "They got..." on this album along with Black Helicopters, but the album already has some cool upbeat conspiracy tracks like "Futurama" and "The CIA is Trying To Kill Me." Hip-Hop music that has commercial success is typically raunchy in a [certain] way or about delinquent lifestyles. Politically incorrect music like Non-Phixion gets little media attention, and remains "underground" even when produced by respected pros and when the musical elements are even better than most MTV rap/R&B hits. This album is a great offering for those tired of standard rap fare and looking for enjoyable, thoughtful hip-hop tracks.

5.0 out of 5 stars What's Scary About This Album Is That It's Reality!, March 21, 2003
By
This review is from: Future Is Now (Audio CD)
These 3 connect so well on the mic and it's sounds even more better when you got the right production behind you. Which in this case is heard on majority of this album. Not too many guests on this album which makes it all the better I mean who wants to hear everyone else on a debut album we want a full dose of phixion. There is not much more i can tell you about this album except it's worth your time and that what's scary about this album is that the way the world has been going it gets to be more reality everyday. Crazy how these cats call it and spit about it. If you want something refreshing get exposed to Non Phixion i did when i first caught them at The Opera House Toronto(canada). Keep an eye out for the DVD The dvd is now and gortex solo album keep the Phixion coming. This is my number #1 underground album choice of the year. If you are not feeling this album go get your head examined.

5.0 out of 5 stars True Hip hop, real music, November 8, 2004
This review is from: Future Is Now (Audio CD)
It took a real genious to say my boys of Non Phixion were trying to imitate eminem. These dudes don't relate to eminem in anyway. This album is the first thing they could put together without selling out to a major label. I had to write my first review on this profound hip hop album. The rhymes are off the hook. Ill Bill, brother of Necro, Gore-tex, and Sabac Red rip it up for a little over an hour. There are true headbangers like Drug Music, It's Us, and Suicide bomb. A must cop for a real hip hop fan. Props to Necro who has an appearance on his brothers first album.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Album, November 17, 2004
This review is from: Future Is Now (Audio CD)
Non-Phixion is one of the best groups out there right now. They have tight lyrics and Necro, who produced half of the album, provides some of hip-hop's dopest beats. I wish there was more rap on the radio like this. This is straight up hardcore rap that proves that hip-hop ain't dead just that Clear Channel is a devil with too much power.
