It is very accurate, but along with the other reviews, I agree that the "Aug" and "CA 86" should be actual stickers instead of printed directly on the plate. The quality is great though, nice and heavy metal. Looks decent, good enough for a replica, fun prop. Overall I'm pleased, hopefully the gift receiver is as well.

I'm a big fan of Back To The Future and always loved the smoking license plate spinning after the DeLorean disappears. I've ordered a few other license plate replicas (RT 66) from other vendors and been pretty happy. Although the BTTF plate is heavier metal than the others. I agree with the other reviewer, that having the CA '86 and AUG stickers replicated would have added a terrific bit of authenticity. It does look good from a distance. I'll have to hang it up higher so that, hopefully it won't be noticed. Overall, for the price, a bit disappointing!

I'm a pretty big fan of BTTF, and found this piece while looking for cubicle decorations. This piece fits the bill perfectly. Obviously, it's not an actual plate, but the material it is constructed from and the true-to-life colors really make this a quality piece. In the first day of having the plate on display, I had someone come up to me and ask me if it was my old license plate from when I lived in California. That, right there, is all the review that you need.

This is a very nice replica by Diamond Select Toys. And while not 100% accurate, it is a great display piece. I would not recommend putting this one your car for two reasons: It isn't a government issued plate, and I'm not sure it would stand up to the elements. It is, however, just as thick as a real license plate.

When it comes to accuracy, here's what it lacks: The "AUG" and "CA 86" stickers are printed on graphics opposed to actual stickers. The overall color of the plate is too dark. So, be sure to find real pictures of this product and not go by the picture shown. Everything else, the styling and font are accurate.

So, I would recommend this item if you are looking for a nice piece and fairly accurate replica from Back to the Future.
