About the Author

Kahlen Aymes grew up in the Mid-Western United States, the youngest of three children and was educated at a private university. She is divorced with one daughter, has a B.S.B.A. degree in business administration/marketing and began writing as a way to network a business venture. Soon, writing became a passion and morphed all pf her other career goals.  Her readers have told her they want to read angsty, passionate love stories that put them in the pages with the characters and she does her best to deliver!  Her work was described by her publisher as "...A female fantasy - the intersection of perfect love, tragedy and raging intimacy."

This book is a must read for those of us who enjoy being drawn into the story. The characters are true to life and I felt like they were old friends. I laughed and cried right along with them. Every woman deserves to be loved and adored the way Ryan loves Julia. Kahlen Amyes is truly a gifted writer and I am looking forward to reading how this all wraps up.

Holy moly...where do I begin. I finished reading The Future of Our Past no less than a minute ago so I'm trying to gather my emotions & thoughts.. Wow...I think that word sums up everything I'm feeling at this moment. This book was amazing from beginning to the last word. That ending ! If I didn't have book 2 ready to read right now I think I'd be frustrated. Seriously. I can't believe that Kahlen Aymes was giving this book away on Amazon. Hell, I would've paid for it. So so good!

This was the story of Ryan and Julia. Of how they were best friends who loved each other, to lovers, to everything beyond that. It was heartbreaking, yet so perfect. Steamy goodness and at the same time some of the most romantic moments I've ever read. Their love story was so beautifully written I think I could read this story over and over..all they wanted was to be together but sometimes timing and life get in the way and they dealt with it the best way they could. There was no doubt how much they loved each other and it's nice to read a book where these 2 people were fearlessly committed to one another. I loved that. As sad as that ending was (damn cliffhanger! Lol) I'm really excited to read Don't Forget To Remember Me. Every time Ryan would say that to Julia in the book I could hear the Carrie Underwood song playing in my head...😍

Sooo sooo good. I don't think I can say that enough.. 5+ stars!!!

This book is romantic ,real and heart touching. The authors style is uncomplicated but yet expressive. The reader is very well able to put him/herself into the characters with their emotions and feelings. A compliment to the new author. I wish her a great success and hope the next two books of the series will follow the path of the 1st.
