Electronic jazz with emotion...what could be better?,

This review is from: Future Sounds of Jazz 8 (Audio CD)
Every song on this disc has feeling to it, and each conjures up a different image in your mind while still keeping the overrall mood of the album. This is the fifth Future Sound Of Jazz compilation I have owned and in just a few short days it has earned it's place as my second favorite in the series. Jazz musicians can learn a lot from this type of music, as can electronic musicians. Perfect blends of "real" music with surreal, but solid mood gets this cd an easy 5 stars.

Ok, so I usually skip past the first "Theme" cut, but the rest of this disc is a must-have if you're into a trippy, almost trip-hoppy kind of vibe. I have both this one and Future Sounds of Jazz #7, and both are in my "A" rotation. Highly recommended.

track 8 - DJ Kaos - Around in Circles - that song could go for another 10 minutes - it's got me sold on this album, and the rest is really good too. Future Sounds of Jazz - really sticks to the name.

There's a lot of great, great soulful jazz out there, from techno slick to gritty alley. Meaningful substance held deep in the form. This CD and I suspect many of the others in the line are all about form with almost no substance, except the substance they superficially proclaim (we're about love, man; this is the future... give me a break). I suppose that probably is our future and it's not something to welcome.
It seemed more like club music with the word Jazz tacked on to give it a stature it would never have standing alone. Putting titles aside, it's light fun, pleasant background music, even good dance music but I just couldn't shake them calling it Jazz. I did like Spiritual Rolations, though. A good test: imagine the music performed only with acoustic instruments... it's thin thin watery stuff like a McRib sandwich calling itself fine BBQ. There is SO much good music out there. Seek it out.

By far I liked Atjazz's Wrong Type of Day the best. Also very good were Spaceman and Spiritual Rotations.
The rest of the CD cuts were largely forgetable.

The perfect soundtrack to a gay man's life lol,

This review is from: Future Sounds of Jazz 8 (Audio CD)
not that i would know since i am not gay, but this is definitely good music. it has soul and an appeal that really outreaches most electronic music. I tihnk the best songs on the entire offering are Smith Vs. Smith by Jon Kennedy, who uses some interesting experimental noises in the main melody. Also I need to include slow supreme's full kennedy breakdown, which is pretty damn groovy. there's some songs which, although not as killer as those two i mentioned, are worth note.. even dan curtis' spaceman recloose mix, which is pretty cool. expect this to be pumping at your nearest beauty salon with pedro shaking those lovely hips of his.
