5.0 out of 5 stars *** Outstanding Album -- I can't stop listening to it!! ***, April 22, 2008
This review is from: Future Unknown (MP3 Download)
I am so grateful that this album by Michael Johns is available here since he's no longer on AI. All I can say is any record company would be lucky to have him. Michael Johns was always my favorite on AI but I didn't realize the full extent of his incredible talent until I bought this album. Both my husband and I have been listening to it every night! AI lost one of its best contestants, without a doubt. I truly wish Michael Johns all the best in his music career and I cannot wait for his next CD. (If I were a record producer, I would be thrilled to offer him a contract.) Michael Johns has a very distinctive, unique sounding voice with rich, melodic tones that I find quite addictive. All my stresses seem to melt away when I listen to his soulful voice. I truly feel transported to another place each time I listen to him. (I came upon another song of his entitled "Q" on youtube which is phenomenal and I'm a very picky listener. If you enjoy his music, I strongly recommend looking up that song as well.) Michael Johns has multi-layered textures in his voice and, I think, he has one of the most riveting, melodic voices around. I rarely write reviews but after listening to and immensely enjoying this album, as well as several of his other songs, I felt compelled to give him much deserved accolades.

Happy listening!! (P.S. His song "Cradle", in this album, is truly outstanding.) Enjoy!

I was introduced to Michael Johns on American Idol.....now that he got kicked off the show, I'm searching for any and all clips and recordings he has done. I bought the MP3's to this CD last weekend. It's an AWESOME CD. Very good rock n roll songs. I'm so glad these recordings are available online and I highly reccommend buying this CD!! IT ROCKS! :)

This album is excellent from start to finish. It's one of the best post-grunge efforts out here. I can't believe this band has been a secret for so long.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Stuff, March 24, 2008
This review is from: Future Unknown (MP3 Download)
I think this is great stuff. I was able to find earlier (and better) versions of 2 of these songs and 3 others not on the album. Before The Rising, the lead singer Michael Johns was in a band called Film, their album title was Rolling. Look it up.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant!, May 25, 2008

I am OBSESSED with this album. I love every single song on it. It's almost amazing that I have never heard these songs before and so many other people haven't, because they are just that good. All of the hooks are excellent. I reccomend this album to anyone who is a fan of this kind of music, even if you are not a fan of Michael Johns on AI. The songs I am most addicted to are:

Cradle

Lie To Me

Redemption

Gone Again

These Days

5.0 out of 5 stars Michael Johns CAN Rock Out!, April 18, 2008
This review is from: Future Unknown (MP3 Download)
Great album! Amazingly, Michael Johns (aka Michael Lee) sounds a lot like a young Bruce Springsteen on several songs--perhaps the group's name is an homage to the Boss's album, The Rising?
