5.0 out of 5 stars Truly A Gem, August 9, 2007
By S. Leuenberger (Sarasota, FL) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I first got into Bosson when I heard "One in a Million" from his second solo album. Several years ago, I purchased "Rockstar," his third solo album and was so impressed that I went and bought that second album I mentioned earlier. Since then, I've basically fallen in love with his music. Bosson's songs are incredibly addictive and worthy of a lot more attention then they've been getting recently. Naturally, when I heard about Bosson's fourth studio album, "Future's Gone Tomorrow - Life Is Here Today," I went out of my way to import it on Amazon because I live in the USA.
After several listens, it's up there as one of his most impressive releases. The set opens with "Simple Man Wishing," "Believe In Love," and "You," three dance-pop gems pumping with Bossonesque vocal delivery. A beautiful mid-tempo track "What If I" segues right back into yet another dance anthem, "I Can Feel Love." The sixth track on the album is a wonderful song called "Walking," which has a vibe similar to "Love Is Still Alive" from "Rockstar." "Rain in December" is the first song so far that isn't 5-star-worthy but is still a pleasant listen. The eight song, "Love This Life" sets the tone again; this track is one of the more catchy and memorable songs of the album, truly anthemic. The first dud of the album follows with "Thinking About You." I gave that track a few listens, and it isn't really doing much for me. This is the only weak song on the album, trust me. Back to some great music; "Sin-cinderella" is a heck of a pop song if I ever heard one. Man! "Summer With You" is a joy, and "What A Day" starts the conclusion of the album solidly. "Live Forever" is a bonus track on the album. I am in love with the simplicity of the song, only because it reminds me of '80s French-pop that I grew up listening to, like Dorothee and such. Former Alcazar member Magnus Carlsson also recorded this track. I'm not familiar with the history of who recorded the track first and who pitched it to whom, etc. Either way, the album closes with a ballad version of "You." All in all, I can safely give the album five stars. It's the first Bosson album that is literally fantastic throughout. Never has there been so few duds on one of his records, and I'm very proud to call myself an even bigger fan than I was before. Thank you, Bosson. You're yet another reason to thank Sweden for bringing out such amazing talent.
