Excellent exhibition catalogue on futurist art, June 25, 2010
This review is from: Futurismo 100: Illuminazioni A confronto: Italia, Germania, Russia (Italian Edition) (Hardcover)
Superbly illustrated exhibition catalog on Italian futurist art and related Russian (including Chagall, Jawlensky, Exter, Goncharova, Rozonova, Popova, Larionov, Malevich, Filonov) and German avant-garde art (including Marc, Macke, Feininger, Grosz). Thick volume of 520 pages; printed on heavy paper. 142 superb color illustrations (mostly full-page color plates) and plus countless reference illustrations in the text in color and b/w. The text consists mostly of contemporary letters and other documents -- in Italian in the main text, but in the appendix also in the original English, German, French and Russian. The 2009 exhibit was one of the major exhibits mounted on the occasion of the centenary of the Futurist Manifesto (hence the series title "Futurismo 100"). The color illustrations are of excellent quality.
