I have worn Futuro Support hose (knee high,open toe) for several years as my "every day around-the-house" hose for mild varicose veins. I like that they stand up to snags very well and are reasonably priced.

I've been wearing compression stockings for a long time now and these are the most uncomfortable and cumbersome pair I've ever come across. The stocking is not made of the normal nylon stocking material, it is a much heavier and thicker weave. It's a bit like having a big, bright wool sock pulled up to your knee. You could definitely not hide this stocking or pass it off like a standard nylon. And since the weave is so thick there wasn't much stretch at all to the fabric. I was so unhappy I've thrown away the one stocking I wore once, and returned the unused one for a refund.

These support knee highs really make your legs feel better the way they compress your swollen legs and ankles. I just wish they made them in colors, I would have every color, especially tie dye. Ha. They are a bit hot though and I cant wear them with my shorts without looking like an old lady. I am 66 years young and ride a recumbent bicycle with shorts. Can you just picture that with these knee highs in that thick beige color (like an ace bandage material)..???? I wish I could wear them more times out in public, but they are not pretty for sure. I especially like the heel area out and the freedom for the toes, they are the only kind I would wear of the support type stockings. I tried support hose thigh highs and couldnt stand them. These knee highs toe, heel out, are far less restrictive and get the job done. This brand Futuro is the best too. I tried two different sizes, weigh 230 and am only 5'5" and the large is better than the xlarge.
