I've been wearing braces for years because of carpel tunnel. I've found if I just sleep in the braces I am ok without them when awake. As they wear out I replace them instore, but the stores have all quit selling this small version and now only sell the big clunky styles.. who wants that ! ?? .. So glad I found these on amazon, bought one right and left to replace my ragged ones that needed to be replaced a year ago. Once again the styling is a bit dif from past choices but it's close enough. Velcro strap works easier than past designs and I can still remove the metal bar inside when I throw these in the washer for cleaning.

Horribly uncomfortable compared to older "clunky" design,

BJL411: I'll swap my uncomfortable one for your "clunky" model.I have an older "clunky" Futuro model wrist brace that I've been using, and I wanted an extra one for when my clunky one is in the wash or drying. The clunky version is MUCH more comfy and effective than this "sleek" design. This current sleek design is ineffective: It does absolutely nothing to immobilize my wrist, as I can still twist it and feel the pain in my torn tendon. The poor design is very uncomfy: I can only keep this current design on for an hour without going crazy from itching due to the rough materials or from the elasticized edges digging into the outer edge of my pinky, the bottom of my hand, and my forearm. The splint is snug as it should be, but all edges dig in no matter how I adjust the velcro tabs. What's worse is the scratchy binding around the edges. Even after washing/drying this splint, it leaves red marks on my hand for hours after I remove it. On the other hand, the clunky Futuro model goes farther down past the base of my fingers and doesn't have any uncomfortable binding. The only drawback to the older version is that it's more difficult to keep dry when washing my hands. But I'll stick with the older clunky version or will look into the other Futuro immobilizers before wearing this newer sleek splint again.
