I liked the Fuzion Asphalt so much that I bought a couple of the Electrons for my kids when it came out. As I mentioned in my Asphalt review I thought the Asphalt was too big and heavy for young kids and this version seems to have taken care of those problems.

Price: Not too bad considering Amazon is selling them for $50 from a list price of $90. You can get a Razor for about $20 cheaper but this has more articulations. I consider them comparable due to the size.

Of course the biggest difference between the Fuzion and a regular scooter is the ability of the Fuzion to carve. The footplate tilts and the rear wheels turn at the same time effectively giving you 4 wheel steering and the ability to bank your body. In practical terms it means you can steer by throwing your body around by moving your center of gravity just like on a skateboard or skiing. It is this which makes the Fuzion much more fun than a regular scooter. Depending on your ability it'll just take you a few sessions to master this and it's so much fun you'll get addicted to it.

The articulations are similar, but not the same as the larger Asphalt. Though they "do" the same things, I consider the Asphalt's articulations better and more sophisticated and the Electron's simpler and cheaper. I wish that they had made the footplate larger because though an adult can stand with both feet together on the Asphalt, a kid can't do the same with the Electron, they have to do the front and back or diagonal stance same as on the Razor. The folding mechanism is stiff and I doubt a 8-9 year old kid can do it him/herself.

The Electron's wheels are smaller than the Asphalt's and therefore bears less weight but it'd be simple enough to buy a set of larger wheels. Still, I like the 4 wheels because 4 wheels means the weight is more evenly distributed and the ride is smoother compared to a Razor.

Assembly definitely needs an adult. The wheels are easy enough to put on but they designed the handle bar so that it needs to be clamped on with 4 screws and it takes someone with a bit of minimum knowledge that the 4 screws must be tightened evenly.

My verdict is that I wished they had just made a smaller and lighter Asphalt. Why re-invent the wheel? The 360 degree handlebar doesn't do anything functionally and the rear articulation is not as smooth and doesn't go as far. Changing the wheels to a larger or smoother one will probably make a lot of difference.

If your kid doesn't have a scooter, I'd recommend this one over the Razor, but not for Amazon's listed MSRP of $90 though. $40-50 would seem about right. I'd say this one would be OK for any kid anywhere from 7-12 or so. Any older and I'd recommend the bigger Asphalt or any of the other Fuzions. Yes, I'm a fan of these scooters.

I got this scooter for my son who has been riding a razor since he was two. He rides around the neighborhood and the skate park, and completely loves it. Best gift he's ever gotten.

Fuzion has a different take on scooters, with a tilting board that lets you carve. You don't just steer right left, you can actually lean the steering column to the side and tilt the deck (the place where you stand) to make it go where you want. It's great as a kid's only scooter or as a compliment to a Razor and skateboard.

The electron is the smallest and lightest of the fuzion scooters, which is perfect for tricks or if the rider is a bit younger. I ride it myself, and it takes my weight, but even my 5-year-old can easily handle it.

The manufacturing on this scooter is amazing. As other scooters have gotten a bit 'cheap' feeling, this is made of solid aluminum and very heavy plastics. The trucks are tough and can definitely take a beating.

The thing that really sold me was the YouTube videos that are everywhere. Search YouTube for Fuzion Electron and you'll see kids doing amazing stunts or just carving down a street like they're on a ski slope.

This scooter is lots of fun (for this dad and also the kids), and I imagine it's durable enough to last through the rest of the boys as they grow up.

Alright, first, a little background info on myself. I am on Nextsport's Team Fuzion Flow, and was on the Bronze team for 4 months. I've been riding razor scooters for 2.5 years now, and fuzions for about 1. i know a thing or two about scooters.

The Electron is first and for the most part a freestyle (trick) scooter. You should know that right away, if you want a cruiser/carver scooter than you should consider the Asphalt or Carbon.

From a freestyle standpoint, the Electron is the best Fuzion Nextsport has released. Specifically, its light weight (9.4 pounds i believe) allows for many more tricks/combos to be done than on the NX, Nextsport's first freestyle-specific scoooter. While the NX is more suitable for bigger people (18 inch wide bars, wider deck, stronger wheels, etc), the Electron is perfect for smaller freestyle riders.

Although it has a weight limit of 135 pounds, even if you are smaller than this be prepared for some play in the folding mechanism. Repeated impacts will start to wear down on the foldy mech, which as far as I know cannot be "locked" (some riders lock folding mechs on Razors to prevent them from wearing down, and shaking).

The wheels are, I won't lie, pretty bad. After just a few days with my new Electron the back wheel dehubbed. One sketch doublewhip and its toast. So this has prevented me from doing a lot of whips. You can put skateboard wheels on it, however. They are also fairly slow.

I do think that this is a great Fuzion scooter for the kid who loves to do tricks on anything with wheels though. Chances are that he will ride the Electron for a very long time. The fact that it has four wheels gives kids more options for flatland style tricks than on two wheelers. And if Billy starts getting pretty good, you can send a video of him to Nextsport for a chance to get sponsored!

Bottom line, if you want to do some pretty sick stuff on a Fuzion, this is the scooter for you. If you want an alternative to Razors for your small child, the Electron will suit your needs perfectly. If you want to zip along the streets, carving around and just bombing hills, I would suggest a different Fuzion.

I have many fuzion scooters. I have the nx, carbon pro, ashpalt, coblat. I just got the new fuzion electron and it is so cool. Its great for getting huge air in the park, or grinding a pool. Its i also great for transportation and tricks. Its have 360 degree rotation for barspins and tailwhips. I love this scooter and couldn't live with out it.

I was very excited to buy the silver scooter for my son after reading all the reviews here on Amazon. However, after receiving our scooter, the plastic casing where the handlebar unfolds was completely cracked, making it impossible to open. I was able to return my product easily and ordered a second scooter, hoping the problem was only with that scooter. When the second one arrived, I found the exact same problem! I don't know if there is a problem with the manufacturing or if Amazon had received damaged stock. This is my first Amazon experience where I have been disappointed.

I bought this for my son. He loves it. He enjoys riding this much more than his Razor scooter. He especially likes the smooth ride and the tricks he can perform on this. He is eleven years old and he was able to put this together himself. Very easy assembly. Great value. I got him the blue one-the color was beautiful.

I BOUGHT TWO OF THESE SCOOTERS FOR MY DAUGHTERS FOR XMAS.. MY OLDEST WHO IS 8 YEARS OLD LOVES IT MORE THAN A TWO WHEELER SCOOTER.. MY OTHER DAUGHTER WHO IS 6 1/2 YEARS OLD LIKES IT TOO, BUT SHE IS JUST NOT USED TO HAVING THE FOOT BOARD MOVE FROM SIDE TO SIDE.. I REALLY LIKE THE SCOOTER FOR ME AS IT IS REALLY FUN TO RIDE IT.. IT IS ALMOST LIKE RIDING A SKATE BOARD. I WOULD RECOMMENDED THIS PRODUCT TO A FRIEND OR FAMILY.

THE ONLY TROUBLE WITH IT IS THAT YOU HAVE TO PUT IT TOGETHER, BUT ONCE IT PUT TOGETHER IT IS ALOT OF FUN TO RIDE...

My 6 year old loves this. I think it actually is safer than a traditional scooter with 2 wheels. I am sure it is only until he has learned tricks on it though. My 3 year old has tried it, but he is not quite tall enough so the handlebars are to close to his head. The 6 year old hasn't used his old scooter since we bought this one.

My son (8) got this for Christmas and he loves it. It was easy to put together and it is lightweight yet sturdy. Great for a beginner or someone who is a little advanced because it can do tricks. I definately recommend for a 6-10 year old. The weight limit is 175 pounds but I don't see a real big kid liking this.

My 12-year old son, who's ridden a Razor scooter since he was four, wanted the Fuzion for Hanukah. While it's a decent scooter, he's been disappointed at how clunky and slow it is, relative to his Razor. With four wheels rather than two, and a correspondingly wider wheel base, it takes some getting used to, as one tends to hit the rear wheels when one kicks to propel it, generally falling in the process. It's probably a nice scooter for someone starting out, or someone who's mainly interested in skateboard type tricks, but it's not a great scooter for flat-out speed or transportation. I wouldn't advise it for someone who's ridden a Razor or other two-wheeled scooter previously.
