Picking up the thread he left with "Professional Dreamer", David Benoit pushes the mixture of music further forward, without losing the impact of his individual keyboard sound. On 3 of the tracks he has once again turned to the production work of Rick Braun, and each of the tracks adds a new element to the CD. Favourite of the Braun produced tracks is "You read my mind" where Braun offers the programming.Another element in the mix is that 2 of the tracks are produced by Stuart Wade of Down to the Bone.Both these tracks "Coming up for air" and "Tango in Barbados" are refreshingly different, the latter being a really jaunty workout, an interesting contrast with Benoit's work in the 80's and 90's.Of the self produced tracks, the title track is a good tune, with Benoit adding touches on Hammond B3.My two other favourites are John Barry's "Then the morning comes" with a touch of vibraphone from Larry Bunker, and "Reflections" on which there is an imaginative use of several instruments including a French Horn. All in all this is excellent,and has a depth that allows something new to emerge with every listening. If you haven't heard the "new" David Benoit this is a great place to start!

I first heard cuts from this album on the local "smooth jazz" station here in Detroit. I was instantly hooked by them, and kept hearing the DJ mention (at the end of the set) the name David Benoit. So I had to get it.

The rest of the album is every bit as good, if not better than, the tracks they're playing on the radio. I seriously recommend this if you enjoy chilling out to a great vibe, or you just want something you can tap your toes to. This one does not disappoint.

David Benoit's 'ReJoyce' - a tribute to jazz guitarist Joyce Cooling - was my favourite song of 2000. So when I heard he was going to collaborate with another of my fav groups, 'Down to the Bone', I was euphoric. Wow! What a great CD that would be! *sigh* Well, I have to say that although I love David I am a little disappointed. Some of the tracks just don't do it for me. Has he been watching re-runs of 'The Man From Uncle'? (Listen to 'Reflections' and 'War of the SUV's' and you'll see what I mean) Still, I prefer the Napolean Solo suspense music to David tinkling up and down the entire keyboard. And why does he have to end each CD with a really schmaltzy song?

Never mind. The track 'Then The Morning Comes' is worth the price of the whole CD. And I love 'You Read My Mind' and 'Tango in Barbados'. If you're a DB fan like me, you'll forgive him the rest.

I got one after I got the 3 down to the bones cds and this is
just as good, he is really good and know how to play and this is
worth getting and playing at your party or home with your friends
or just in your car, its fun music and your enjoy it very much.

I have just recently started in on the smooth jazz scene and this was one of the first cds I bought. I just happened upon it at my local Borders store, listened to the first two tracks and decided to get it. Good funky rythms, with some good humor and accompanyists (see War of the S.U.V.s) His version of Then the Morning Comes is a lighter, jazzy version and a lot of fun to listen to. The last track is truly a beautiful, moving piece. Great for staring out the window. This is definitely easy listening and highly recommended for those that want something of that type with a little spice thrown in it.

However I did feel that something was lacking. There were times when I really wanted him to break out and get a real groove moving, but the track stayed back with the relaxed piano sound...

Still, this is a great addition to Benoit's discography, bringing out a real fun side in him.

I first heard this album almost a year ago whilst having lunch in a modern Italian restaurant in my home town of Leicester, UK.

I have been a big fan of Smooth Jazz for a number of years now and heard much fine music from a wide range of first class artists but in all honesty I have to say that this album takes some beating.

It's rare to find an album where I can truly say I like every track but this is one occasion where it's a pleasure to say so! Right from the vibrant first track "Snap" to my favourite, the truly fantastic "Tango in Barbados" the listener is taken through a range of very different but at the same time very similar music in terms of style and excellence!

If I had to take 6 albums onto a desert island this one would be top of my list - an absolute must for anyone with a passion for Smooth Jazz!

I defy anyone to listen to the Fuzzy Logic trac and not find themselves moving to the music. I've never heard of Benoit before, but I will soon have all of his work at home. I'm listening to it as I type this.

I picked up this CD a couple of days ago and it has been playing continuously. I have been a Benoit fan for 15 years or so but his last 2 CD's with Rick Braun have really been my favorites. It's kind of like you can always count on David to deliver. I know the saying "past performance does not guarantee future results" but you can count on the fact that Benoit's next release will not dissapoint you. In fact he seems to continue to get better and more creative with each release.

This is my second Cd of David , most of it are incredible to listen. let me tell you something, Some Cd lack the good quality of the sound specially when playing piano or guitar even if you have a good music system, the music is dry.Thank Goodness the two Cd i have from David Benoit are good quality music , you can tell right away that they are produce from good music company.
I'm buying another one, Oops, correction, Investing another one. The Best of David Benoit.

I so enjoyed this CD. It was a smooth ride for the way home. Each cut had a familiar yet exciting newness to it. I'll always listen to and enjoy the classic artist and Dave Benoit will always be a classic to me.
