Editorial Reviews

From the Inside Flap

In 1994, Japan exported products at a total of $35 billion that use fuzzy logic or NeuroFuzzy. The remarkable fact that an emerging key technology in Asia and Europe went unnoticed by the U.S. public until recently, combined with its unusual name and revolutionary concept, has led to a controversial discussion among engineers.

Many publications now deal with the theoretical background of fuzzy logic, its history, and how to program fuzzy logic algorithms. In my book, I want to take a different approach. I will explain all elements of fuzzy logic system design using case studies of real-world applications. No formulas, no complex math, just everything you need for a hands-on start. Roll up your sleeves, and I will guide you step-by-step through fuzzy logic and NeuroFuzzy design on your PC.

The disks included with this book contain a simulation-only version of professional fuzzy logic design software and software simulations of various technical processes. This lets you instantly design solutions without any programming. The large number of case studies treated in this book illustrates the benefits of the technology in different application areas. This helps you to evaluate the potential of fuzzy logic in your own application work. Working with leading-edge development tools helps you get a practical start in just hours.

Got it for the software. The book/cd are excellent for intro and using the fuzzy logic schemes. It is a good way (and least expensive way) to try out some of the concepts.

It's not theoretical or programming based, rather a superb description of what fuzzy logic can DO. The software is getting a bit out of date, but you can always download the latest demo version off their web site.

This book shows using the program how fuzzy logic works.

There is a lot in the book

and it needs to be read a few times.
