Each of these is sampled at up to 46 velocity layers, resulting in drum parts of superior detail and expressiveness. BFD was recorded in the drum room at a top Californian recording studio by professional engineer Steve Duda (NIN, Pitchshifter, A Perfect Circle) using over $50,000 worth of microphones from Neumann, Sennheiser, AKG, and others. The drums used range from the 1920s to 2002, and include both classics and rarities. Not only useful as a sound source for your own drum programming, BFD also incorporates a comprehensive library of ready-to-use MIDI grooves with different styles, feels, and time signatures. The sounds in BFD are extremely good and versatile. (Real Drums) I currently use it as a plugin in Sonar which runs great with very little latency. When it was first installed the buffers needed to be raised from default since the cymbols were being cut short, but I have had no problems. The cymbols ring out now alot more than any synth. cymbols. The routing options are amazing allowing anyone to edit the sounds to fit any style. The drum loops are pretty good, but because I'm running them as midi in sonar... they can easily be edited, changed, or even created to fit any application. I just drag and drop the loops in the order I want... great for writing and practicing songs.

Excellent drum plug-in or free standing computer drum kit. Very realistic drum sounds with many velocity layers. Easy virtual manipulation of mic placement. Easy to swap separate drums within a kit. Groove Librarian feature offers hundreds of groove possibilities. By far the best product of its kind.
