Not great style for Handel,
By Baroque musician "Baroque musician" (Madison, Wisconsin USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The G.F. Handel Flute Sonatas for Flute and Harpsichord (Audio CD)
Ms. Zucker is a wonderful flutist. I listened to the excerpts on line out of curiosity and they don't have much to do with Baroque style. The "slow" movements are much too slow and sound subdivided, and the articulations are wholly un-Baroque. Better off to listen to a traverso player play these pieces or at least someone more conversant with Baroque performance practice. I love her modern repertoire recordings.

Handel Sonatas,

Excellent musicianship, Handel would be pleased. My flute students are playing these sonatas, so very useful to have this great interpretation. I have a cd of recorders performing these works but it's not the same.
