Customer Questions & Answers

Customer Reviews

You can add air or take some out all the while you are still reading the tire pressure.
Headless
What's worse, is that the valve stem where you add air starting leaking air every time it was connected to a tire.

Was very helpful when using a gas station's air compressor; also when using a small portable compressor.

I was in the market for the best way to add air to my tires from an air compressor, but also to monitor the pressure easily while doing so. This unit seemed to fit the bill... just attach it to take the reading and then top it off if needed using a cheap air chuck. I also liked that it has a relief valve. So you can get your pressure perfect without taking things on and off the valve stem.

The gauage reads quickly and seems to be accurate. It is relatively easy enough to pop the chuck on and add air. It can be a little cumbersome trying to hold it while pusing the chuck on, because the chuck needs a bit of force to engage (also depends on the pressure you have your system set at). Overall, there are some ergonomic drawbacks. First, you can only hold it in your left hand if you want to add air and see the gauge, which is OK for me, but maybe not for some. The round shape is alright, but you have to hold it in a very specific way to brace against the pressure needed to engage the air chuck to add air, and it's not always the most comfortable or convenient position. My air chuck has the angle as most do, so I have to press it in with the air hose sort of sticking out at me, which is harder than if I had a straight air chuck (I'll have to see if they make one). This may be a problem with my air chuck, but since most are angled this way, it would be easier if this unit were easier to get a good grip on, or if it had more room between the gauge and the air chuck input. Something like a pistol grip handle on the bottom of the gauge and an inch extension on the air input would be awesome. I don't want to get into a long list of ergonomic suggestions... suffice to say that the ergonomics are definitely not perfect, in my mind.

I like this tire gauge's ability to add air while still monitoring the pressure. The bleeder valve that allows you to let air out of the tire while still tracking the pressure is nice too. My one complaint is that mine doesn't hold too well to the tire's valve stem. I usually have to "re-attach" it 3 or 4 times to get a good connection. Other than that it does the job and provides accurate pressure.

I'm one of those people who some times has trouble getting the alignment just right with the traditional "stick" tire gauges with the angled chuck. The EZ Air Tire Gauge makes the procedure a cinch, though -- straight in and out, with no more than a puff of air from the tire when you attach or detach it. The gauge itself seems pretty accurate and the entire assemble feels quite rugged. For use as a pressure gauge, I'm QUITE satisifed with it.

It also has a connector at the other hand that lets you inflate the tire through the gauge. It works with the air hoses you find at most gas stations as well as the screw-on connectors on, for example, the TyphoonMax TX300 portable compressor units. I haven't used this with the gas station air lines myself, but I have used it with my TyphoonMax compressor. The gauge will not give a steady reading while the compressor is on and inflating the tire. The gauge needle vibrates quickly up and down in a blur between two readings while the compressor is on, but you can still see the pressure increase looking at the lower reading of the blurred needle. You can also just switch the compressor off from time to time to check the pressure for sure. It's certainly much easier than swapping back and forth between the compressor and the gauge. The connector on the EZ gauge is probably the only real complaint I have. While it attaches and detaches easily from the tire for quick readings, the spring-loaded piece that actually holds it in place on the valve stem (when you need hands free operation, like for working the compressor hose) will some times not grip very securely and you'll have to jiggle or remove and retry it. It's never taking me more than a couple of tries to get a secure fit, though.

Finally, as a minor nit (but I feel worth noting), the gauge is oddly shaped and it may be hard finding space in, say, your glove compartment or other confined storage space. It isn't BIG, just...oddly shaped.

I have used this gauge for only a week. I like it. Feels pretty solid and already has the rubber case surrounding the gauge. I checked it at work with constant 35lbs and it was there more or less to a degree I dont care. For the money unless you are a snob or need to go 140mph this gauge works great.

Got this to extend the hose on our back-up tire pump for our Cessna. Works best on that hard to reach nose wheel. The lever fits in narrow spaces unlike the typical "L" shaped models. Also provides about a foot of extra reach when used with a bicycle type pump. The gauge seems to be accurate and it appears to be well made.

Overall this is a good product and much more accurate than a stick style tire gauge. My favorite part is that you can just attach this and get the pressure right easily the first time. As some other reviewer said the needle jumps a bit while filling but you can still tell the approximate pressure. If you have a mini air compressor with an on/off switch this is not really a problem.

Does everything as described! Very happy with the purchase and plan to buy another one. Only thing that was somewhat annoying was the shipping was a bit slow. Oh well. Not anything against the product. Just thought I would mention if if you need it quickly.
