Looks like people are having a hard time reading the description on this item. It is for 2 strips of .223 or 5.56 NATO PER POCKET. Not for anything else. These are the same ones we used in Nam and they were not heavy canvas or nylon then. They are made quick and cheap and expected to be dropped in the field after used. I think the price is a bit much but I am not selling them. Use the 2 stripper clips filled with 10 rounds each of .223 or 5.56 NATO and placed in the cardboard sleeves into each of the 7 pockets and you have what you are supposed to have 70's era. Bandoliers. No more or less. Oh yea, GI supply gave these out with a large black safety pin to use for adjusting the strap length.

This bandolier can accommodate the 3 clip cardboard inserts, meaning that it can hold up to 210 rounds (21 clips). This bandolier isn't tacti-cool, so if that's what you're looking for, you'll be disappointed. This is a no-frills grab & go means of carrying ammo - just as it was designed to be used for military purposes (although that said, I'd never seen 3 clip inserts - only 2 clip inserts during my time in the Corps - so this is a bonus if you choose to use 3 clip inserts with this bandolier).

It should also be emphasized that this bandolier is intended for 10 round clips. Therefore if you have gonzo clips, they will hang out... and likely fall out. This is military designed, not tacti-cool, so temper your expectations if you have visions of looking like a modern day Pancho Villa/Rambo with ammo strapped across yourself. These bandoliers weren't made to be worn as an accessory item, they were designed to pull 140 rounds out of an ammo can with one swoop, carry it till it's empty, and that's it.

There is a safety pin that comes with this bandolier (same as GI), which allows you to adjust the "strap" around yourself or your gear. Just be aware that these bandoliers were not designed to be lifetime ammo pouches, so they don't hold up to much use/abuse. They were meant to last longer than the supply of ammo that it contained, and then discarded for a new full bandolier.
That doesn't mean that these bandoliers will disintegrate on you, but just be aware that they were never designed to be used for long term use (although they can be if you use it for it's intended purpose in a civilian context).

So for civilian use, it's exactly as I detailed in the title of this review: Grab & go convenience.

No complaints. Were found to be as issued when in Vietnam. Light weight material but seems to be very durable.

These are new, large, 7-pocket bandoliers as specified in the product description. Mine were folded flat for shipping, were stamped clearly with 7/74 on the back (small print) and included the large black safety pin. I used the 3-clip boxes in each pocket. They fit loosely and were easy to put in and take out. If I need these again, I'll definitely buy these.

you have to keep in mind this is not some high tech piece of gear, this is stitched cloth that was used to carry extra ammo in the battlefield.

the fabric is frayed and you adjust the waist size with a safety pin, ive got around 46-50 inch waist and I still use the safety pin so if you are a big guy like me, it wont be too small.

there is history behind this gear and that's partly why I got 2 of them. I use them for carrying small pieces of gear like a compass and some extra rounds when I need to drop a load of gear and go light for a while, its mainly a lightweight piece of practice gear for me but it does its job,

if you have small kids and are looking for something for paintball or airsoft or just playtime, this wouldn't be too bad, just realize that the band is really big, and I wouldn't give them the safety pin with it, you don't want them to be rolling around and get stuck with it.

These bandoleers are very good quality and seem to be well made. They are a bit larger than the G.I. type that are intended for ten round strippers holding 5.56mm ammo. I use these with ten round strippers loaded with 7.62x51 (.308 WIN) ball ammo and the strippers are considerably longer that the ones for 5.56mm ammo. The pocket on this bandoleer have no difficulty in holding three 7.62x51mm loaded strippers in each pocket. Can't do that with the regular G.I. 5.56mm sized bandoleers. I'm very satisfied. Thanks.

I like the stripper clips that came with the bandoliers. The ends don't break off like the one's I bought at the gun show.

It was just what I expected as advertised. A little tight if you choose to insert three stripper clips. Recommemded.
