Very cool toy. If you go to Yojoe's website and compare the pictures of this Tiger Rat version with the original toy from the '80's you'll see it is exactly the same. Some people are saying this new one is poor quality, but I believe this is a false impression caused by the 30 years gap between them plus your emotional bond with the original toy. Oh, and by the way, the pilot is much higher quality than the original one. You can check that too at Yojoe.

I bought this for my sons 5th Birthday.

He has really gotten into GI Joe as they are showing old re-runs of the cartoon from the early 80's on the HUB.
I have to admit that I wanted this or the Cobra Rattler version as a kid and never got it. I can tell you that a 5 year old boy loves the bright yellow color with the tiger stripes and the shark/tiger mouth on the front.

Great size for a 5y/o boy, easy to maneuver and hold onto, especially when compared to the new Sky Striker which is large and kind of bulky for a younger kid. Seems durable wish the stickers would stay in place better. Missiles and bombs stay on the plane very well (also unlike the Sky Striker) It is kind of tricky for him to get other Joes' in and out of the turret. The front landing gear seems brittle and feels like it is going to break but after close inspection after several hours of rough 5 year old play there is no stress marks in the plastic.

This is not going into a collection it is being played with on a daily basis and is holding up very well. He likes it much better than the Python Patrol Conquest. (A lot more moving parts)

Same engineering as the one I played with as a kid. That means a lot in a world where shortcuts are company policy when it comes to new toy production!
