Pretenders Steal the Show, June 23, 2004
This review is from: G. I. Jane: Original Soundtrack (Audio CD)
This cd is worth picking up for two things, "Goodbye" and "Homecoming" by The Pretenders. Goodbye is one of their most beautiful ballads(Actually a cover of Steve Earle`s song), and its really hard to hold back the tears when thinking back on the final scene in the movie when the song is played. Since the songs are very hard to find outside this cd, I recommend picking up it just for the Pretenders Songs. The rest is typcial Military Movie Soundtrack fare, with some good old classic songs, and some nice scores by Jones. Still, Its the Pretenders who steal the show here.

I love this soundtrack. Lots of movie music interspaced with great songs from "The Pretenders" and others. Sorry I did not own this sooner.

This CD is awesome! The tracks by The Pretenders are worth the price of the CD alone. There are oldies and new style music, classic rock to altercative cuts. My favorite song is "The Homecoming" by The Pretenders. The guitar intro is strong and rhythmic and Chrissie Hynde's range and style compliment the intrumental accompaniment perfectly. It's such a bargain. Trust me - if you buy it, you might just feel like doing some one-armed push-ups or shaving your head. HOO AHH!
