America's Elite Return!!!,

This review is from: G.I. Joe: America's Elite: America's Newest War, Vol. I (Paperback)
One Year has passed since Cobra was dispersed and the Red Shadows attempt to take over the world. When the US comes under attack by a new threat GI Joe is once again reinstated and a smaller "elite" takes charge. Joe Casey does a masterful job writing this story and Stefano Caselli's art is the best to grace the pages of GI Joe in ages. I highly recommend buying this book if you like military action.

Devil's Due Publishing has misprinted the ISBN-10 for this book in the barcode of the Snake-Eyes: Declassified trade paperbacks (great quality control, guys). Therefore, Amazon may ship Snake-Eyes Declassified in place of this book. I sent back 2 copies and, finally, realizing there was a bigger problem to sort out, Amazon refunded my money.

I lost all interest in the Devil's Due's G.I. Joe stories when they started killing off all the fan favorite characters. Sure people die in wars, but lets leave that to reality. When I read a comic I want to feel like there is a chance good might win in the end and a hero can't be held back. The writers did a good job of killing off my childhood heroes and turning the great G.I. Joe story started by Larry Hama into something darker and uninspiring. Larry Hama is a great writer and his G.I. Joe is the one I will read. Devil's Due's run of G.I. Joe had some high points early, but soon became pathetic. I am glad to see they will no longer be in charge of the title.
