4.0 out of 5 stars Awesome, but could have been better...
This is an awesome set, but the hard core collector (like myself) may have some issues. All the figures in the set are repaints. The Snake Eyes repaint is one of the coolest renditions of Snake Eyes yet. Storm Shadow is also extremely cool, though not as cool as the unmasked mail in exclusive from Hasbro. 3.0 out of 5 stars KIND OF KLUNKY
While I must admit it is cool to have five different ninjas to play with,
the platform is quite janky. It falls apart and by no means will this toy ever be
a collectible.

The other three figures, however, have been reused so many times it's almost ridiculous. Tiger Claw is a repaint of Kamakura v.3, Shadow Strike is a Storm Shadow/Ninja Trooper/Ninja Viper repaint. Black Dragon is an Iron Grenadier; it's barely a repaint. The playset is extremely cool, with molded weapons lying about and the breakable totem. In addition to the playset, there is a comic and dvd. Unfortunately, the comic and dvd don't jibe story wise. The stories don't jibe with GI Joe continuity in any way, shape or form, unless the only continuity you count is the Valor vs. Venom movie, and even then it's Kamakura who's the cocky newbie, not Tiger Claw. Like I said, the hardcore collector will be angry at some of these facts, but it doesn't take anything away from the play value or the display/diorama appeal of the set.

This item was purchased for Christmas for my son. It was a lot of things for the price. Well worth the price paid. My son plays with the figures daily and enjoyed the comic book. The DVD is a added bonus.

5.0 out of 5 stars a decent set, July 18, 2005

This is a pretty decent set to get if you are trying to reinact the story that that the dvd/comic tells. Now as another reviewer pointed out, the set is full of repaints of figures that may or not mesh well with your figures. first the playset is awesome as its a nice little dojo/temple scene where you can have classic martial art battles and even have a breathtaking smashing through the wood to have the setup tumble and leave the opponent wondering if his adversary perished with the destruction or escaped. i also have to point out the weapons are great that came with these guys and i'll get more into that. first we have dragon leader who is weird since before he hated being called a ninja now hes proud to be one again? anyways he does look like an iron gernaider so yeah get the real one off ebay or something and add this guy to you gernaider ranks. he comes with a 2 sickle blades. next we have shadow strike that isn't a bad troop and i can see him being a great counter to firefly in espionage. this is the old storm shadow mold except with the better movable legs and he comes with 2 knives. next we have snake eyes that is a great color combonation and really etailed. only thing i don't like is hes all geared up which makes you wonder not only how he can sneak but eliver any kind of kick. he comes with a nice samari sword. next we have storm shadow which resembles the recents ones we had lately which is pretty good. besides the first figure mold this is my second favorite. he comes with his skirting, a bo staff, two scyche blades, and a black backpack that holds the blades. next we have tiger claw who is strange as he has the mold of kamakura and acts just like him as well. no mater as he looks distictive enough with the orange mask and the tiger paw design on his chest. he comes with a jabber sword (can't remember its name) and also a holder for it. as i said a real great set to get that should be on your list as i see them sold all over so theres no excuse not to get them :)

1.0 out of 5 stars GI Joe Ninja Battle toy with DVD, February 26, 2006

The kids loved the GI Joe DVD, the action figures are somewhere around the house and we through out the tiny pieces, swords, guns, etc. because we have a baby in the house. The stand is good if you are going to display the action figures, otherwise its pretty much useless. Ours went in the trash. I let my son purchase a toy for good behavior and this is what he picked. Like I said they liked the dvd.
